Staying near Mossyard in Dumfries on a non birding break but had 600 skylark, 200 linnet, 77 swallow, 70 alba wags, 3 crossbill, 80 chaffinch, 30 Siskin, 178 mpipit and 180 Pinkfeet all heading west in an hour over the caravan
Whooper swans on heaton park res this morning. 5 on the res with a further 7 SE. Also ruff, 3 Golden plover, 2 snipe, 13 lapwing all west. House Martin, 3 swallow, 39 linnet and 800+ mpipits south
2 Great White Egret flew WNW over Elton res after being at Audenshaw res earlier. Single Tree Pipit and Hobby over and the first autumn wheatear were signs of migration today
Decent at Elton today. 18 Whooper swans departed north 7pm. 3 LRP, Barn,Tawny and Little owls. Scaup, 14 goldeneye, 2 little grebe, Greylag and 110 mpipits north
