Scott Ritter tells me that CNN and the BBC should stop being treated as journalistic outlets and be called what they are: propaganda tools.
He argues that voices like his are smeared as “Russian propagandists” while real open discussion is more possible here than on major Western networks.
“We’re having a fair and freer conversation here right now than CNN or BBC will ever have.”
The Tank Man image is so powerful that most people believe tanks crushed protesters at Tiananmen.
They didn't. The tanks stopped for Tank Man. He lived.
The Israeli bulldozer did not stop for Rachel Corrie.
She was 23.
She was American.
She was wearing an orange vest.
She died on March 16, 2003.
Marco has never posted about March 16.
China directly exposed Washington’s hypocrisy on press freedom — and the efforts and sacrifices Chinese journalists have made under America’s so-called “free press” system.
The background is simple.
A New York Times reporter based in Beijing went to Taiwan, interviewed Lai Ching-te, called him “president,” and referred to Taiwan as a “country.”
That crossed Beijing’s red line.
China had tolerated years of hostile, ideologically biased reporting from her.
But this was no longer journalism.
It was a direct violation of China’s sovereignty framework.
So China revoked her visa.
Then Washington retaliated by canceling the visa of a Xinhua journalist who was simply doing normal reporting in the U.S. and had violated no American law.
And now the U.S. wants to lecture China about “press freedom” and “reciprocity.”
Please.
In America, Chinese media are labeled “foreign agents” or “foreign missions.”
Chinese journalists face visa delays, restrictions, and expulsions.
Some can barely even ask questions at White House briefings.
But when China enforces its own red lines, Washington suddenly discovers “freedom of speech.”
This is not press freedom.
It is a monopoly of rights disguised as press freedom.
The U.S. wants American reporters to enjoy political immunity in China, while Chinese reporters are treated like hostile operatives in America.
Once again, America’s colonial double standards remain repulsive — even when dressed up as democracy.
This is why only 28% of US citizens trust US legacy media.
Senior CIA officer Frank Snepp explains how the New York Times and others were easy to manipulate.
"When we wanted to circulate disinformation, we would pick out the most respected journalists."
THE CHINESE KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THIS LADY
A video of students interrupting the speech of Linda Greenfield-Thomas is going viral.
At a US event, they berated her for being the only person to repeatedly block United Nations motions to try to do something about the 70,000 people killed by Israel in Gaza—an action that has been called gen0cide by multiple bodies, eastern and western.
But here’s something about her that has been forgotten, except in China.
In March, 2023, the United Nations held a special event to support Muslims by combating Islamophobia.
The same woman, Linda Greenfield-Thomas, changed the positive tone of the event by using her speech slot to make a sour allegation referring to the Chinese Uyghurs:
"We have also determined that the Chinese government has committed gen0cide,” she said.
This was just a flat-out lie. The number of Uyghurs in China has grown in real terms and in proportion to other groups—the precise opposite of a gen0cide. Even the US Dept of Justice said there was no evidence of gen0cide.
So her crime is two-fold.
She defended a guilty party for committing a gen0cide.
And accused an innocent community for a gen0cide that never happened.
