Very pleased to join my colleagues at @CharteredColl as a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching #FCCT it's a great honour and an excellent journey since being a founding member and Lead Advocate.
To all my #followers my long time relationship with this platform has come to an end. I cannot unquestionably support this platform anymore and I've joined 21 million mainly scientists on @bluesky . As an educator I have learned more on twitter than any CPD. That sort of content
Who treats his employees with disdain is incapable of computing how the impact of his actions have on people nor does he care. We all have a choice and I've made mine. Being a "customer" since 2008 does not count for anything and I can safely say that my voice doesn't reach out
@yorkshire_dales I've lived all my life on the edge of @yorkshire_dales it's been very much part of my life. It's been a place of solace, adventure and inspiration. This continues to this day sharing it with my own children. Thank you for keeping this special place, special.
I believe that the vast majority of people in this country are good and generous and honest and fair – and whether they are Democrats or Republicans or independents, they want those values reflected in their politics. That’s what we’ll get with @KamalaHarris and @Tim_Walz – two leaders who will work every day to make your lives better.
@andymoz78 They "only" killed 250,000 with their response to COVID but an extra 300,000+ died due to austerity. I share your anger, but I'm ecstatic that they won't get a sniff of power for at least two cycles of parliament. It will take that long to fix the mess they made.
Harrison Ford: When dozens of former members of the Trump administration are sounding alarms saying ‘For God's sake, don't do this again,’ you have to pay attention. They're telling us something important. I've got one vote, same as anyone else, and I'm going to use it to move forward. I'm going to vote for Kamala Harris
@alfie32143 @Keir_Starmer I'm as happy as when I heard of Portilo losing his seat in 1997 and Hesletine commiserating him live on radio in the early hours. Gideons budgets caused over 300,000 excessive deaths. This budget will save lives. 3m just had a pay increase!
@Channel4News That isn't meant as a compliment is it? She took the country to war twice, "spiffed" the revenue from north sea oil (€1tn social fund in Norway) up the wall, destroyed manufacturing industry, stole our milk! Destroyed 1m jobs in mining, interest rates at 15% need I go on?
@HYWEL_ROBERTS At least 115,000 miners have had their pension pot back after it stolen by government of the 1980s. Incidentally, a very old friend of mine was the soloist that won the 1990 version of the British Open Championship which Brassed Off is based. He was just 21 at the time!
Just for clarity and ensuring correct facts are used - @Sarah_Montague on #BBCwato @BBCWorldatOne - GPs are not private companies. Since 1948 we have worked as partnerships. No shareholders. Live in community for career. Committed to NHS https://t.co/yXpW6JqzcL
@DanielKebedeNEU Come on Daniel at least say thank for a 19% uplift and over £7bn for education. You're right of course, but if we don't talk up our sector who else will.
@carolvorders@DavidDavisMP Since Gideons first budget in 2010 the austerity war has resulted in 300,000+ excess deaths. Poverty kills more then disease. The most recent budget will not result in excess deaths as it supports working people. https://t.co/Z2P15EWRi2
This is spot on. As a GP working in my community & national leader at BMA at the time I know GPs remained open throughout the pandemic & exposed themselves to significant risk from a deadly virus. The media portrayed us as closed / lazy / hiding to suit their warped view of GPs
