@___TheGOOdWitch This is hyper confident nonsense. Just vomiting words at someone doesn’t meant you’ve won any argument. It would have been interesting to see a debate here.
@Councillorsuzie The general consensus seems to be that this was a proportionate sentence.
Don’t overplay your hand and give those clutching their pearls about there being ANY gaol time here any material to work with.
@DissentFu There’s people genuinely offering sensible suggestions in this thread (as well as slightly more blunt ones), and all have been met with a deluge of bile and expletives.
You might want to re-read some with a clearer head- there’s still time to help yourself.
@R89Capital Hang on- you can’t write off all women politicians based off this woeful example any more than you can write off all men on the basis of the arguably even less impressive Zack Polanski.
@Danjsalt What’s this obsession with making targets ‘legally binding’?
We’re no more likely to hit them, it opens up the government to future legal cases when they fall short and is a ham fisted way of seeking to bind their successors…something no government is officially allowed to do.
@SimonMagus This also applies to boats and aircraft.
Trains are brilliant for some journeys, or more specifically some legs of some journeys.
Trouble is they can be crowded, delayed and are hideously overpriced meaning travelling as a group is prohibitively expensive and you’d use a car.
@peterrhague It went into the exchequer and got spent on state funded stuff.
£360bn of it from direct taxes…before you add income tax, NI etc from dependent industries to get around half a trillion.
