@JinqiuYang That's hard (and hard to believe) - there is the SE 4 AI topic (in AI and Software Engineering), which should render the work quite relevant...🧐
Having finished my @ASE_conf reviews, I can commend the very interesting research carried out by the community 🏆🔊🎉
My scores 5,5,1,2,4,3,2,1,5,5,1 (for LLM/ViT use - not the actual scores) evidence the foundational models storm.📕🌪️
@erik_fredericks@github@arxiv Sure-but, IMHO, in parallel we (as reviewers) should not start a witch-hunt game, trying to identify the authors by checking the source code or Google/Arxiv for a paper pre-print or any author revealling data.
Afterall, the aim is to reduce reviewing bias not to be Sherlocks🔍😃
Question for PC/Area #Chairs: When reviewing a double-blind paper, do you consider an *anonymous* @Github repository with 1-2 source-code files containing the author(s) name (e.g., X.Y) to violate the double-blind rule? If so, how is this different from the paper being on #Arxiv?
@erik_fredericks@github Agree; but how is searching the source code of a paper to check if there is a remnant author identification element different from searching if the paper is on @Arxiv? Note: the latter is permitted by all major CS conferences. I am asking for a friend :)

Thanks for your kind words @predict_addict. Indeed, MC-CP, as a hybrid UQ method, brings the best of the two. Despite its simplicity, it yields robust prediction sets/intervals by exploiting the statistical efficiency of MC dropout & CP's distribution-free coverage guarantees🚀🔥
Conformal Prediction + Monte Carlo is absolute 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Finally researchers applied conformal prediction to Monte Carlo to revive popular method to be fit for the XXIst century and it is shaping to be an absolute 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀.
A nice start of the week with release of what looks like very impressive #conformalprediction paper by a team of researchers (Daniel Bethell, @simosgerasimou and Radu Calinescu).
I have been saying for long time 🕰️ that uncertainty quantification methods based on Monte Carlo dropout are non performant in terms of coverage, so it is great to see conformal prediction applied to Monte Carlo to correct its issues.
This work is great and has all the hallmarks to become very popular method, remember Conformalized Quantile Regression invented by @yaniv_romano that also combined classical method such as Quantile Regression with CP resulting in absolute blockbuster of a model.
The new model Monte Carlo-Conformal Prediction (MC-CP) looks like an awesome idea 💡 and delivers improvements both in classification and regression tasks.
💠 ingenious cross breed hybrid idea to combine Monte Carlo with conformal prediction
💠 adaptively modulates traditional MC dropout at run time to save memory and computational resources
💠 unlike the original MC dropout, MC-CP delivers robust prediction sets and intervals
💠 significant improvement on SOTA methods including not only MC dropout but also some of the current conformal methods such as RAPS by @ml_angelopoulos and CQR
💠 Boosts accuracy in the process whilst delivering robust prediction sets and intervals
💠 Delivers even more confident CP predictions
💠 Highest accuracy across classes, whether it is bird 🦅 cat 🐱 deer 🦌 dog 🐶 frog 🐸 ship ⛴️ automobile 🚗 or horse 🐎 MC-CP outperformed against other methods.
This paper and methods looks very impressive and if the benefits are confirmed in large scale studies is shaping to be another potential blockbuster conformal prediction model.
