They want high inflation and it's a balancing act. How high can they get away with before unrest. Next they'll change how they measure inflation to a less accurate number that tries to show it being lower than it really is (it's already like this today) but they will change again, watch.

Then after they update it, they'll revise targets up, and let it get even worse. Real inflation will be closer to 8-9% a year. The people will put up with it and eventually people will just lose homes, starve, get priced out of having kids, owning property, etc etc. The debt will fade, taxes will rise, etc etc. Fiat will collapse as it has in every Fiat economy that has a government.

A new currency will be adopted, likely one that can be controlled again and the cycle will repeat.

@AntiTrumpCanada The USA is awful at maintaining forests. In fact, trump cut so much of the funding for forest management that much of the trails, camp sites, and national forests are just straight closed. They didn't get the bare minimum to make them acceptable for visitors. He's pathetic.
