Code Is Art.

For years, I kept repeating this sentence.
You could find it in my signature.
In my Discord status.
Hidden between the lines of everything I was building.

Deus Ex Machina explored Bitcoin as a living machine.
Enigma transformed blockchain data into a cypherpunk city.

Code Is Art is where it all comes together.
It's more than a collection, it is my artist statement.
A culmination of years spent exploring code, systems, storytelling, and bitcoin as artistic material.

I genuinely believe this is the most ambitious work I’ve ever built.

Over the next few days, I’ll share why.

Code Is Art can be experienced for the first time on a 3-meter screen in the Art Factory grand floor at @nfcsummit.

Hmm i think i take more factors into consideration, it has to catch the eye, that’s for sure. I love to take complexity of the algorithm behind it into consideration, it is also important to include something new and fresh like DEM with first usage of recursive endpoints, or Enigma with elaboration to that topic. Finally and probably the most important factor is the artist. If I feel that art purpose is just to fill some pocket I lose all enthusiasm, but if the artist fights to show his art to the world that’s totally different story.

Today I would like to share my thoughts and approach to collecting and investment in Ordinals generative art.
Let's call it food for soul and retirement plan.

I pretty much share @saylor belief's when it comes to BTC, Yet 20 years is pretty long time to just hold.

I hate trading, I'd rather to spend time with family and around my hobbies, I also do not enjoy waking up at midnight covered with cold sweet so thats hard pass for me.
So i searched, while it is good to diversify your wallet I wondered whether it is possible to diversify your Bitcoin in the same manner. I believe I found the answer and it lies in Ordinals.

Ordinals are superior to any other chains NFT since with ruthless (and necessary) restrictions they may live only on BTC, therefore this is best place for ART, which inscribed will stay with us for good. That's fact.
If besides stable growth with BTC you are willing to make a bet (or investment, its all the same just different spelling) here you can use your Bitcoins to make it happen.

OK, but what to support, where to invest? Ordinals (like all NFTs) are like Dorian Grey parties:
- lot is going on.
- you can always find something you like.
- regardless likings, still everyone just want to spend night with host.
- yet in the end most of them will just wake up next day with STD.

That was to much for me, so my engineer's brain needed some Simple aggregation.
For me we have 5 types of ART here:

1. Hype Based Art - They are great for Ordinals since they tend to reach greater audience and promote Ordinals in one way or another, sometimes they are even built around astonishing ideas, are inspiring and most beneficial to chain brotherhood, sometimes not. Most definitely they throw some Uber Epic parties, yet I am not gonna place 2 black cats in the wizards hat followed by half of my investment plan and slight touch of international Shame to check whether my magic wand will indeed grow exponentially over those years fuelled by hype and jpeg alone. - Pass for me, but they can be amazing if you dare to bet and like to trade, also taking part in their challenges and activities can bing you lot of simple fun and joy which is nice.

2. Community - lot of Ordinals will grant you an access to affiliated community, my favourite example are #Bitmaps who are so focused on decentralisation that even with mind blowing headcount and impressive volume, you cannot find single individual who will spoke on their behalf which actually proves their point. Being part of selected communities can give you lot of benefits and access to outstanding people you will normally not have chance to meet so it is definitely worth exploring, it can be a good investment but I am looking for something even better.

3. Builders - now we talking, I like to build, I like to create, it's satisfying and gives this unique feeling of achievement. With this category no-one beats @OnChainMonkey, just take a look on @huuep "backstory" in their web page👇 and back it up with @amandaterry ingenious touch. Those folks will never let you down and will relentlessly build around Ordinals for a certain success. I am not yet associated with them by chain, yet from both investment standpoint and my personal agenda its my nr. 2 priority. If you believe in something you should at least have courage to support it's growth, benefits will come in somewhere in the process.

4. ART - Art in its definition is so vast as ocean and so tiny as average jpeg Ordinals pixel density, it comes in many forms, and speaks for all of us differently. From the ancient times humanity created Art and surrounded itself with it, we just feel better with its proximity, we thrive and history showed that collecting can be extremely profitable so this fits perfectly. But what to chose from this sea of everything?
At This point let me just say that my pick is generative Art on Ordinals and I will elaborate below. Yet if hesitant, do your research and do not be afraid to follow guidance of galleries such as @vivid_ordinals who will help you not only understand the process, aesthetic value and meaning, but also assist you with contact with the artist him/her self to clear your doubts at source (and yes, do it! Since Ordinals are like newborn to this world, most of artist are alive, well and actually willing to communicate, so use it!).

5. Not art At All - all abominations that comes in half way between mediocrity and none of above mentioned points. copycats, scammers, opportunists and "less gifted" code practitioners who have just enough energy to chase the last one to mint before dropping into oblivion.
- totally out of my scope.

Uff, we are halfway through, so I think that you deserve some explanation why generative Art is my pick of choice. I'm gonna bring it to you with all Simplicity.

Forget 2025 and lets move to our promised land around 2045. Orange is a new black and our 0.1 BTC can give us all eternal benefit.
Humanity will still be able to chose from all Ordinals created till day but what new Art will be born with over 10kk $ per BTC? Are we still gonna upload 4Biter, for glory of man kind and do even most genius artist be able to afford 100x100 pixel inscription?
The only new art which will be born in this medium will be cost efficient one: Generative art, the one still capable to inspire and tell us a story with just few satoshi. And if only Generative Art will continue to be created it will obviously become one and only, "The Art of Bitcoin" and Artist who started early and will continue create significant work through all those years will become new Masters, they art - priceless Masterpieces, probably the only objects which will continuously be carved and maintain liquidity.

With that in mind I attempted to find Artist ideal, one with greatest potential to become main character of my predicted story, what should be the traits to look for?
1. Artist should consistently create in Ordinals Generative Art domain - that was Simple.
2. Artist should be true for his Art, with goal much more idealistic than pack his pocket with some $ before disappearing to live easy life.
3. Artist needs to be willing to actively build his community an take care of collectors, which for me is directly related to his long lasting success.
4. Art needs to stand out with both complexity and beauty, have a meaning, needs to evolve and move boundaries.
5. Finally artist needs to be not only creator but also face and salesman of his art. Needs to be active and willing to present himself and his creation to the world. This is extremely important not only to build long lasting legacy but also to prevail especially in this young and full of noise present Ordinals scene.

You can find lot of artists who have some of the points from above list, yet only handful who check it all.

For me such figure is @CyberSeaNFT.

Just a glimpse is enough to acknowledge progression of the artist and if you willing to make some research you will find that behind this unique aesthetic hides so much more. DEM was first ever Ordinals collection utilising recursive endpoints (BTC API) to translate live on chain data into visual artistic interpretation. Enigma deepened this concept tenfolds and introduced Connection mechanism (made article about it link 👇).

well if you're not good with clairvoyance I encourage you to chat with CyberSea or at least join some of the many spaces he visits in a daily manner, use your instinct and make your own opinion. He is on this stage from a good while now and for me he is here to stay.

ad 3 and 5.
Ultra active on X, with 11,2k followers he's still answering every DM.
Dedicated collector space inside Vivid discord.
Countless colabs.
Support of great communities like OCM.
Wherever ppl are discussing Ordinals regardless live, or remotely CyberSea is there not only to promote His art, but to share its extremely vast knowledge and highlight Ordinals with anyone who is willing to listen.
All of this aside, He actually cares, whether you are his collector or you just bump into him, he will give his best to help and advise you, he actively tracks whats happening with his art and pays attention to highlight purchases to make someones day a little bit more sunny. If things go wrong he know why it happened and act. Collect his art, and you can always count on alpha and whitelist.

Lets say you believed me, my vision and my judgement about CyberSea. How to actually invest here?
Principle is the same as with BTC. Calculate your funds, pick whatever collection you like and can afford, buy yourself a piece and hold it, its that simple. If the Artist indeed achieve greatness all of his art will skyrocket regardless its chain.
I have pieces from every collection, not only from investment standpoint, I just like them (I've selected one of my pieces from every collection in showcase above).

But if you are reading this article close to its release date and looking for some optimal approach which will not only be good option for retirement plan but also show some increase now, I would suggest to Collect DEM (flor atm ~ 0.012 BTC) and use it to mint Enigma (mint price 0.0015 BTC) on presale to Connect both (once again more about connection in my previous article 👇). DEM will most likely go up with upcoming Enigma mint, furthermore it will give you whitelists in future mints if you want to continue investing. It is also listed on liquidium so if you temporary need some BTC back you can always use it for your advantage. Enigma is amazing collection and it's mint price is extremely low for what you get, so it will also most certainly go up. And while you connect both they should be valued even higher if you will ever sell them as pair.

That said If DEM is to expensive for you, or you simple not willing to make such commitment, at least attempt to catch Enigma on @MEonBTC April 3rd. it may be tough to get but i wish you luck :)
