Ethereum interop layer changes the game
If you haven’t heard of it. Look it up. Does what it says on the box. All L2s are now fully interoperable with each other, provided there is liquidity
Anyone can launch a chain, provide liquidity to the majors and collect the fees. And every app should.
L2s won’t work in the long run because they absorb fees that apps need, and in a world where it’s viable for any app to launch their own chain, giving fees to the chain is not worth it
L2s should all be app chains IMO, with cross chain liquidity and paymasters so you never need to bridge or move liquidity
The major L2s have not scaled to meet the needs of Ethereum, frankly. They are too in the weeds with grabbing users and mindshare to focus on the bigger picture of a global interpretable internet
Fortunately, this will lead to an alignment of incentives between infrastructure and applications that has never happened, and will lead to having more popular applications than chains, or at least as many, which has comical not happened to date
I am bullish on Ethereum, Solana and any chain that pivots to directing fees to apps
Everyone else is ngmi, obviously
