Not technical. Participating in Web 3 so I can form my own opinions and so I can explain what it is in simple terms to other non-technical people. #Simplify
@0xfoobar@punk4464@andy8052@punk6529 I highly encourage you to check out cryptoapes. The team has been hard at work building this exact functionality. Im sure some of the highly talented developers would be happy to share with you some of the work they’ve been doing if you are interested
Some late night alpha for the astute observer: With @chain_runners' runner 2248 leading @YourPrimaryAlt, we're focused on pushing the boundaries of NFT innovation and have been quietly developing a protocol for issuing and authorizing ephemeral NFTs as access tokens.
@quantity@punk6529@CryptoApes Here is a thread the team shared earlier this year on the project. IMHO, if the team is able to deliver, it could be a very important innovation. This is not meant to hype, and the team is taking its time to do it right, but I’d encourage you to check it out

@quantity@punk6529 I’ve been someone whose been a bit skeptical, but also open minded about web3. I’ve joined a few different NFT projects, but the 1 Quantity is helping build, @CryptoApes, is tackling the rental use case. It’s help me to understand how an individual NFT can have intrinsic value

@nftcrypto3 This was also to the detriment of folks who KYC’d and weren’t airdropped apecoin previously. To participate in the mint, these folks needed to accumulate ape quickly and, bc ape is relatively illiquid, these purchases were made at temporarily inflated prices.
Not a holder yet? Well now might be a good time to join.
Throughout this week, we'll be hosting giveaways for @NFT_NYC promo codes ($599 value) to verified holders.
@burglol Not to mention the BAYC were given the ape. They didn’t have to purchase at high prices. It seems some were a) given ape, b) didn’t kyc themselves, and c) ended up with lots of otherdeed
@burglol That’s what it seems to be for BAYC owners! Yuga had more information than we had about number of KYC wallets. They required sale to be done in illiquid ape. And it appears a lot of the people who ultimately bought weren’t the ones who kyc’d based on slick marketing.
@yugalabs Also, it looks like there are a number of BAYC owners who sent APE to KYC accounts just before mint. Those accounts then minted and transferred the otherdeed to the BAYC account (and, all the while, it doesn't look like the BAYC account itself KYC'd).
First person to list a #CryptoApes for sale on @Coinbase_NFT will get a free CRAPES 🙂 DM proof.

@punk6529 In this case, it seems to have worked in the favor of holders; but if it can go this way, could it go in reverse (could Yuga eventually institute commissions on secondary sales)?
@punk6529 Thanks for this thoughtful thread. Apologies if this is a dumb question, but how is Yuga able to change punks licensing model? I thought a + of web3 is that terms of a contract don’t change (in contrast to how web2 platforms attract devs early on, then change the rules)
