I would like to acknowledge and thank everyone who assisted us and showed genuine sympathy during this extremely difficult experience. Your compassion did not go unnoticed.
That said, the overall situation we experienced remains deeply concerning.
My wife eventually received help at around 22:00, after we had been waiting since 10:00 in the morning. This only happened after I completely broke down in front of everyone and begged that we be allowed to go home because she was in pain (7 weeks Pregnant - After we were informed by our private gynaecologist that the pregnancy was a blighted ovum, you can understand the emotional distress we were experiencing), bleeding, and emotionally exhausted. My wife had to beg for an injection to ease the pain.
Before we could leave, we were made to sign a document stating that if we left the hospital, whatever happened to her afterwards would not be the hospital’s responsibility. This was while she was still in pain and actively bleeding.
Even after she was finally attended to, we waited an additional ±45 minutes just to get a stamp so we could leave.
What stood out most was that there was only one senior gynaecologist responsible for over 50 patients, assisted by just two intern doctors. The doctors were clearly exhausted working long hours, eating lunch while still attending to patients, and doing their best under impossible conditions.
This experience is not just about one patient or one family. Pregnant women some clearly in severe pain were left waiting for hours without communication or prioritisation.
I sincerely hope that someone in authority will stand up and fix the situation at this hospital. Patients deserve dignity, care, and timely treatment. At the same time, doctors and nurses deserve proper staffing, support, and humane working conditions.
No family should have to reach a breaking point just to receive care.
i think emotional education should be a real thing, i don't mean soft skills, i mean things like how to sit with boredom, how to be happy alone, how to protect the heart from persuasion, how to discern intuition, how to ask for feedback, opinions, or advice, how to grieve, etc.
This morning in Hammanskraal, 53 illegal immigrants were arrested while traveling on a bus. Of those, 17 females, 1 male, and 16 children were deported back to Zimbabwe, and 19 were detained at the Hammanskraal police station.
I repeat, we have a national crisis!
There’s an episode on The Boondocks (The Itis) that really opened my eyes the first time I watched it 😭
So Mr Wuncler wants to buy a park but the government is overcharging him so he decides to open a restaurant with Grandad right across from it. The restaurant initially does well but soon brings destruction and chaos in the neighbourhood due to its highly addictive and unhealthy food. Now people are feining at the park and robbing people just to get some of the food. The restaurant closes down and Mr Wuncler is able to buy the park at a much lower price. He eventually begins building on the land at the end of the episode.
It got me thinking in the South African context. How many times do you see makeshift squatter camps popping up next to industrial and residential areas ? You’ll see those camps with mobile toilets and you’ll ask yourself where they get them from. What if all that is orchestrated by elites in their game of monopoly? What if they’re funding chaos and destruction for their own gain ?
I wouldn’t put it past them 🥲
It begins with Phuza Thursday, the warm-up that spills into Friday and Saturday, the official binge drinking days. Sunday, once a sacred day for family and rest, now stands proud on the drinking calendar. Then comes Mogodu Monday, stretching the weekend binging.
By Tuesday, the cumulative five-day hangover sets in; Wednesday is shaky. Come Thursday, the whole cycle starts again. We joke about it, but I doubt our children are in on the joke. They grow up watching us parents lost and submerged in bottles. In the process, their emotional needs are met half way, productivity in workplaces suffers under the weight of exhaustion and alcohol-induced brain fatigue.
May we all remember that each binge steals hours from our selves and our children. Each binge weakens our homes and chips away at our dignity and the future we claim to be building.
PS. Don’t mind me. I’m just a grumpy, boring old fart. Where do I get off writing this nonsense. Rha sies! Uzenza ‘bhetere’ la Lupi. Xa eqale wangubani yena. O nagana o gore o mang- kgosi ya lefatshe

Alcohol is the most dangerous drug on earth, that has caused the most harm, yet people celebrate it... tragic 💔
Guys, why don’t ya’ll advocate for positive phases like exploring, learning new skills, moving to new towns, starting businesses, learning musical instruments, finding a hobby that interests you when you’re young? You don’t have to go through trash phases hey…
