Let’s be honest, this year gave us options. From Study Group to Dear X, The Price of Confession, When Life Gives You Tangerines it was a good year to be seated. But if I’m ranking with my chest? Best K-drama of the year is The Manipulated. Nothing else came close for me. It was dark, uncomfortable, and ruthless in the way it told its story. No hand holding, no emotional cushioning. Just tension, injustice, and the terrifying realisation of how easily a life can be destroyed. It wasn’t a drama you casually watched it demanded your attention and stayed in your head long after. Now, favourite couple? That belongs to When Life Gives You Tangerines. IU and Park Bo-gum had that quiet, devastating chemistry. The kind where a single look does more than a whole monologue. Their love felt lived-in, stretched across time, mistakes, patience, and longing. Soft, but powerful. Best performance of the year? The Price of Confession. That wasn’t acting, that was possession. Controlled, layered, quietly terrifying. The kind of performance where you realise halfway through an episode that you’ve been holding your breath. Most unexpectedly good goes to Study Group. Nobody warned us it would go that hard. It had heart, energy, and just enough chaos to make it fun without losing its emotional core. Drama that deserved more noise: Dear X. If you watched it, you know. If you didn’t, that’s on you but it had depth and emotional weight that deserved a louder conversation. And finally, drama that sparked the most debates? Still The Manipulated. Because people are still arguing about motives, morality, justice, and whether revenge was deserved. Any drama that keeps fans talking like that has already won. Anyway, that’s my list. what’s your Best k-Drama of the year?
