A Fidelity cash van was ambushed near a local butchery in Rustenburg earlier today by a group of heavily armed men.

During the attack, the suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

In the ensuing shootout, one suspect, who had reportedly been shot in the leg, allegedly took his own life at the scene. The remaining attackers fled and are still at large.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
