Olkalou was a matter of life and death. Moraa John is one of the DCP team members who faced the wrath of the armed goons who were wrecking havoc in the small town.

Four black Prados filled with armed goons gave her a chase after failing to block her car. Her driver was the better one on the steering wheel. A Kenyan court has just delivered a landmark ruling in a medical negligence case that dragged on for almost two decades.

Naila Qureshi sued Dr Raffique Parker and two others over a hysterectomy procedure done back in 2006.

She says the doctor removed her cervix without her consent, and botched the operation so badly that it caused a vesico vaginal fistula.

The damage cost her her job and her ability to earn a living.

Her husband also joined the suit, citing loss of conjugal life and years of suffering.

Justice Alexander Muasya Muteti found the 1st and 3rd defendants grossly negligent.

The hospital was faulted too, for letting a doctor who had been disbarred in Uganda practice on Kenyan patients.

In the end, the court awarded the family a staggering Kshs 157,207,524.20 in damages.

It is one of the biggest medical negligence payouts ever ordered by a Kenyan court.

Limuru, Kiambu County:
A gang of 4 men broke into a family home during a violent robbery in Highpeak Estate, Manjiri at about 0430Hrs after cutting through section of razor wire on the perimeter wall before breaking a sitting room window grill to gain entry.
The home owner FMW, 53, an employee of IPA Insurance Company was confronted & demanded to open the safe. When she told them she didn't have one, the gang proceeded to another bedroom occupied by her 23y/o daughter, WSM, where one of the suspects raped her.
The assailants escaped with 2 Laptops, a 43-inch Samsung TV, a 13-kg gas cylinder & 2 iPhone 12 mobile phones.
WSM was rushed to Tigoni Level IV Hospital where she's undergoing medical examination and treatment.
