as someone who's 30 with peers in their 30s, i meet so many ppl who have no joy or whimsy in their lives. no fun hobbies or niche interests to talk about. i visit their homes and there's nothing on the walls. they only know how to talk about work or gossip or whatever netflix show everyone else is watching. i used to think maybe i'm too old for this stuff, but now i only feel lucky because my life is full of things that bring me joy. being a fan isn't cringe, it's feeling passion for something you love, and as you get older i think it's even more important to hold onto that feeling.
