Many congratulations to our fantastic colleague Wissam Nacef on successfully passing her RIBA Part III exams! Since joining the team in 2022 she has worked on a variety of projects including stabilisation and restoration works at the Category A listed Dalmeny House.
We are delighted that the restoration of Fairburn Tower for the @LandmarkTrust has been shortlisted for the 2025 RIAS Awards. The project saw the Category A listed tower transformed from a roofless ruin into high quality holiday accommodation.

We have enjoyed 20 years of Burns suppers since we were first appointed by the @N_T_S to undertake a masterplan for the Burns National Heritage Park. Our work included a new Museum and the sensitive repair of the famous category A-listed cottage where Robert Burns was born.
Simpson & Brown’s Heritage Consultancy Team were awarded the SAHGB-IHBC Heritage Research Award 2024 for their conservation management plan on Dalkeith Palace. This is their second recognition, having also won in 2022 for research on Edinburgh's former Royal High School @thesahgb

Scott spotted in Newcastle Cathedral clock. An adventurous day discovering hidden corners during a quinquennial inspection of Newcastle Cathedral. Here, Scott crawled through a tunnel in the tower, popping out in a tiny space between the wall and clock face.

Last night Simpson & Brown hosted the SPAB-STBA Conference 2024 closing reception at York Art Gallery. It was wonderful to see current SPAB fellows and delegates enjoy the work of William Morris, a founder of SPAB, within the galleries that we completed in 2015.
What better day to unveil The Witchery Shop than Halloween! Simpson & Brown have been working with a skilled team of craftspeople to create a unique retail space beside the famous @TheWitcheryEdin hotel and restaurant on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile.
Whilst working on the excavation for the Scottish galleries project our in-house archaeologists discovered that the Mound isn't a load of rubbish after all..... https://t.co/DbGL2zkhb3
Many thanks to the @HTNmembers for organising an excellent conference. Of particular note was @NarroAssociates 'Piece of cake’ presentation, the creativity of which perfectly demonstrated the creative approach required by a design team when working with historic buildings.
We opened our doors to hundreds of visitors at the Old Printworks for @DoorsOpenDays over the weekend. We enjoyed sharing our building and projects with you. Thank you for all the great feedback which we received during the event!
