-We are not entitled to housing benefit, or any other benefit for that matter.

-We do not get free eye tests, free dental care or free prescriptions.

Image for a moment that you are one of the 411 MP’s sitting on the Labour parliamentary benches. You have an enormous majority of 172 seats. Effectively your party is in a powerful position from a political perspective.

Unfortunately the party leader fails to connect to the wider public and it is deemed necessary to move him on. Ordinarily what would then occur is a search to find a successor amongst the other 410 MP’s.

That did not occur. Someone decided that a mayor in Manchester should be parachuted into parliament to become leader of this nuclear armed 7th richest country on Earth. Who was it that decided that? Who greenlighted this WEF stooge? What have they instructed him to do? Why is this being allowed to take place?

If Andy Burnham wants to become PM it should be done by way of calling an immediate election. Coronations are for the Royal Families.

Meanwhile, those 410 MP’s should be ashamed that this has been allowed to happen. What is now clear is that the concept of a parliamentary democracy is well and truly busted.

If Vladimir Putin changed the voting system days before an election to stop his opponents winning, every British journalist would call it what it is: rigging the rules.

Tonight, Labour rammed through a last‑minute switch in the Lords so that if Andy Burnham wins Makerfield and quits as Greater Manchester Mayor, his replacement won’t be chosen on a simple first‑past‑the‑post ballot, but on the supplementary vote system instead.

Why now?

Because Labour knows the race to replace Burnham would be a straight two‑horse fight with Reform UK – and under FPTP, the candidate with the most votes wins, no second chances, no back‑room redistributions, no “stop Reform” stitch‑ups.

Under SV, Labour gets a second bite of the cherry: if their candidate can limp into the top two, they can hoover up second preferences from every other party and magic a “majority” on the second count, even if Reform tops the poll on first preferences.

This isn’t “modernising democracy”. It’s the governing party using its Commons majority and the unelected Lords to hurriedly doctor the rules of one specific contest because it’s terrified the voters might choose someone else.

When the establishment preached to the world about “rules‑based order”, they forgot to mention one thing: in Britain, the rules are “based” on whether Labour thinks it might lose.

My childhood was based around total unlimited freedom that being a Northerner child brought, booted out by day back in by night.

They’re beating the war drums again — Russia this, Russia that — puffed-up soundbites from people who’ve never worn a uniform, never buried a mate, and wouldn’t last ten minutes if their Deliveroo was late.

Let’s start with the obvious lie they keep hoping we won’t notice: we don’t have a fighting force. Not a serious one. Not one fit for a major war. We’ve hollowed it out, downsized it, outsourced it, and then had the audacity to clap politely at remembrance events while gutting it the rest of the year. You don’t win wars with PowerPoint slides and diversity briefings.

First: Ukraine is not our conflict.
Sympathy? Yes. Aid? We’ve given plenty.
But British sons and daughters bleeding for a border dispute thousands of miles away while our own borders are treated like an optional suggestion? Jog on.

Second: the UK has already done enough for Europe — historically, repeatedly, and at obscene cost.
Twice last century we stepped in while others hesitated, paid in blood, debt, and broken generations… and now we’re expected to bankroll and backstop the continent again while being lectured about our past by people who did sweet nothing when it mattered.

Third: patriotism.
Remember how loving your country suddenly became embarrassing?
How flags were sneered at, pride mocked, history rewritten, and anyone who actually gave a damn was branded thick, racist, or “problematic”?
Now — magically — they want patriotism back. Funny that. Apparently it’s only acceptable when they need bodies, not opinions.

And fourth — the big one — what the fuck are we fighting for?

Our home country?
The one that’s run down, hollowed out, crime-ridden, and visibly decaying?
Where towns look like they’ve been forgotten on purpose, public services are a shambles, and working people are told to shut up and pay more for less?
Where law-abiding citizens feel like second-class inconveniences and criminals get understanding, excuses, and early release?

You don’t inspire people to fight by telling them their country is awful — then suddenly demand they die for it.
You don’t mock pride, erase identity, neglect communities, and then act shocked when no one’s queuing up to sacrifice themselves.

This isn’t about defence.
It’s about distraction.
It’s about posturing.
It’s about politicians playing geopolitical dress-up while the nation beneath them quietly crumbles.

If Westminster wants a war, maybe they should first explain what Britain is supposed to be worth fighting for again — because at the moment, they’ve spent years doing everything possible to convince people it isn’t.
