Should school administrators be seen as instructional leaders?

I've never viewed my principals as being instructional leaders...they do a host of other important jobs that are necessary for a functioning school...but teaching isn't one of them.

I know there are different expectations in different areas of the world with different types of schools. This is just my experience.

The longer I teach, the more I realize how deeply elementary school teachers shape students.

When students have strong teachers in their early years, it shows—in their writing, thinking, confidence, and everything they do.

We are in an era of “pedagogical clutter.”

There’s a surplus of methods, practices, and acronyms to learn—and administrations are in a hurry to implement them. 

Teachers are constantly cramming new info, and retaining little. 

Let’s slow down, simplify, and focus.

@readswithravi I mean, habits are created by our genetics, environment, experiences, and behaviors. But I agree, habits can largely decide your future but people can choose to change them with the right approach.
