I wonder why these veteran and big trade analysts didn’t write a single word about how #MainVaapasAaunga made a classy comeback at the box office. I get it you tweet only when certain ‘deals’ are locked but as an industry well-wisher, a few words were expected. Sad.
Giving 3.5-4 stars to any third class film just because they paid you, is still okay. It’s your choice. Your credibility pays the price. But trashing a good film or any film just because you weren’t paid, doesn’t look like criticism. That pattern looks like extortion. Sudhar jao.
Came across a clip where #RiteishDeshmukh was visibly annoyed by a journalist’s question about #SalmanKhan and #SanjayDutt. And frankly, Riteish was absolutely right.
Some questions aren’t asked to inform. They’re asked to provoke, manufacture outrage and generate headlines. The obsession with viral clips and controversy has made parts of entertainment journalism lazy and insensitive. Unfortunate!
Views, clicks and engagement are important. But not at the cost of basic decency and dignity. This needs to be stopped. Utterly ridiculous.
It might be a safe stand to not speak up on the current politics in India and how it’s affecting the lives of people. But it’s not a right stand for sure. Safe doesn’t always mean right. It’s safe today. Disastrous for the tomorrow. Take care.
#Cocktail2 - A picturesque mess of a silly conflict, stupid characters, saved by Kriti Sanon’s vivacious screen presence and Shahid’s monologue in the climax.
Rating: 2.5⭐️
COCKTAIL 2 is funny when it’s trying to be funny. Unfortunately, it’s also funny when it’s not supposed to be. Thanks to the shoddily handled (or poorly edited?) central conflict (loyalty test). The emotions don’t really touch your heart and after a point, you don’t even relate to these characters. However, Shahid’s monologue in the climax makes many of film’s messy ideas fall into place. It hits you but by then, it’s a little too late.
#KritiSanon is the heart of Cocktail 2. The film belongs to Ally. Her entry scene is seeti-maar and you simply can’t take your eyes off whenever she’s on screen. One more solid and confident performance. She shines in emotional scenes. #ShahidKapoor looked dapper and he was enjoying himself here. That monologue in the finale was delivered so beautifully by him. He nails it. #RashmikaMandanna lends a good support but she doesn’t have a meaty role. Also, she really needs to work on her Hindi accent. She gets some good dialogues but you don’t feel the depth.
Beautiful locations, charming Kriti, some really good dialogues and Shahid’s heart-warming finale act make it a one-time-watch. #Cocktail2Review
