Full time Neurodivergent carer. I focus on plight of fellow post viral long haulers including long Covid, disability rights, housing access and ending poverty.
@MikeCarlton01 Need some well informed old style journalists to not let him get away with it. As soon as he said stuff on child abuse I saw not one journo realise they were being used to spread a racial slur about mostly Aboriginal men. There are so many reports on child abuse. Time for action.
@SenatorWong@iamthenas War crimes and human rights abuses on all sides should be condemned. Civilians are not their governments. We should support civilians. I cannot believe there’s no independent eye over the area about what is actually happening.
@TracyWesterman I think the whole focus is a massive racial slur. It makes out that Aboriginal men are child sex abusers. Journos are too underinformed to interrogate the assertion. We should focus on services that prevent and support and addressing the perpetrators. Not a simple task.
@MarkDreyfusKCMP Actually I condemn both Israel’s and Hammas’s war crimes and am furious that our alliances are putting us in a position that we are taking sides. Human rights should be behind our actions.
Every Coalition-held seat voted No, except one: Bradfield, on Sydney's north shore, held by Liberal Paul Fletcher.
He now finds himself stuck between a Liberal party firmly opposed to the Voice and constituents who were tempted by the teals last year https://t.co/UyF2xPXvxm
@SarkySage Human rights abuses on both sides, war crimes on both sides. I don’t want to see us fund the machinery of war. It’ll be used for war crimes. Diplomatic solutions needed. I’m disappointed our Government is taking sides. The downside of alliances.
@KosSamaras I also think in outer suburbs like mine with high percentage of multicultural population - mix of wealthy and refugee - there was low awareness of Australian history and strong feeling of “we are all equal”. I don’t know anyone who voted no but live in a very strong no area.
@KosSamaras I’m outer suburban. Lots of wealthy tradies and low income casual workers and housing stressed people. One observation from me - Yes campaign didn’t answer “what’s in it for me”. And from from a fellow Yes voter - tradies’ concerns is high cost business and protecting wealth.
The work starts now.
To everyone who voted #Yes23 let’s stand with First Nations Peoples tonight.

@SenatorWong@dfat I am horrified we are taking sides on this. There are human rights abuses on both sides. There are war crimes on both sides. Please do not commit to war machinery. It will be used for war crimes. We should have no part in that. We should be pushing diplomatic solutions.
@JJKALE2 I can understand that interpretation. I’m listening. I don’t know anyone who voted no, but I live in a no area. Around me that boils down to “what’s in it for me” type thinking and multicultural people with strong ideas on equality but no context. And lack of civics education.
@nazeem_hussain Not me. I’m calling for human rights based assessment of the situation and to call out war crimes, whoever commits them. I am disappointed with the government response so far.
@TracyWesterman@abcnews While it’s vile its quite common. I actually think that self interest was a factor in how people voted. It’s the same at elections. People want to know they are getting something they value for their vote. Media slammed disinformation about loss. People annoyed they had to vote.
@MFWitches I think another factor is self interest. People want to vote for things where they get a payoff. No one explained the payoff to individual voters who were disinterested, annoyed at voting in something they didn’t care about. Plus the equal rights factor for migrants ignored.
