@Mr_Stage_Hand that's also a valid read! and i think that would lean into a similar idea that i am considering here! bc if abstraction is when you are completely stripped of yourself, jax's abstraction partially taking on the form of her dad's abandonment as she choses to abandon herself,,, oof
people say we didn't see jax's abstraction but i think we DID see it. it just looked different than ep7.
if abstraction is a complete loss of self and identity then. she's shutting the door on herself. covered in static. blank stare. there's no comfort this time. no peace. #tadc
i posted this on tumblr when i first saw the finale and while i no longer think that jax identifies with caine in the way i claimed, i think she does see how quickly kinger is forgiven for "killing" someone and takes it very, very personally (bc she never forgave herself)
Personally I don't like the "Jax and Caine are parallels" theme
Caine only realized his mistakes after he got deleted, Jax only realized her's after she abstracted
The difference is Caine got the opportunity to come back, Jax did not
It just doesn't feel fair at all

i need to clarify that i mean this metaphorically ๐ i think the gag is that she makes so many keys but she still won't use them on herself. i don't think it's intentionally done by caine or meant to be a huge revelation or anything ๐ฅฒ i think it's mostly just a small joke
Ewan Mitchell on reading the #HouseOfTheDragon scene where Aemond kisses his mother Alicent:
โWhen I read it in the script for the first time, I just thought, 'Oh, that's something. Quite out there.' I kind of saw it coming with everything that I've explored with Aemond and his relationship with Alicent.โ
