I have seen people’s comments on “TheCuteAbiola” video showing different stages of his wife’s pregnancy and child birth and I can’t but wonder how funny and hypocritical some of our people can be. Before now, many people have always argued that men are usually not supportive of their partners during these periods to make the journey easier for them.

We have also seen different videos of people praised couples who have documented this journey to share to the public for one reason or the other, more particularly videos teaching how being supportive partners during pregnancy and childbirth can make the journey easier and better.

So why exactly is he being attacked for sharing such journey with his wife? I am sure if he’s an oyinbo man who did that many of you would have been so happy and admiring him for being a supportive, loving and caring husband. Or is it because the couples are not your favourite couples? Is the wife complaining that many of you have decided to fight for her? Why exactly have you decided to be angry over how people decided to document and share their journeys when it does not even affect you in anyway? Why is it difficult to accept that some people will definitely live their lives according to their own terms and not yours? You don’t know what could have made them document and share their stories, so your disgust and anger are completely misplaced.

The earlier we understand that no matter what we say on the internet, people will always choose what works for them and their families, no matter how uncomfortable you are with it, the better. You don’t have to like it. You don’t have to always be negative and angry about everything. Life is not all about nollywood that you must always project evil and misfortune over people who are living a happy life according to their own terms.

Allow people to live their lives, as long as it does not affect you.
