It has been 67days since 18 Cambodian soldiers were captured under the captivity of the Thai military. Cambodia urgently calls on the Thai side to release them as soon as possible, so that they may be safely reunited with their families in accordance with international humanitarian law.
It must also be underscored that the Royal Government of Cambodia has been and will continue to make tireless efforts, using all available mechanisms for Thai military to release and return our 18 soldiers as quickly and safely as possible.
The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence, and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces will never abandon any of our troops under any circumstances.

Michael B Alfaro livestream disappeared hours after.
I believe there is a good chance that he was told to remove the livestream vod. He saw the pain, the suffering and most importantly the truth. As human, he couldn’t hold it, he spoke out against Thailand, but in his position his words are not just his opinion but a reflection of Trump Administration and the Whitehouse.
However we should be happy, he will go back with the truth and hopefully puts more restrain on Thailand for the invasion. The livestream has already reached a massive amount of people. Time will tell.

Where is the Thai government in all of this? Why is it always army generals — not elected leaders — who dictate Thailand’s stance toward Cambodia? Time and again, Thailand’s foreign policy toward its neighbour has been hijacked by the military, sidelining civilian authority.
The statement made by Lieutenant General Boonsin Phadklang, Commander of Thailand’s Second Army Region, on August 12 was more than reckless — it was a dangerous fabrication designed to ignite conflict. His claim that Cambodia “secretly planted landmines” after troop withdrawal is not supported by evidence, yet it is already being weaponised as a pretext for military aggression. This is not the language of peace. This is the language of war.

BREAKING: Press Release from the Spokesperson of the
Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia Phnom Penh, 3 August 2025
The Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia would like to inform the general public and the international community that, according to received information at 10:49 a.m. on 3 August 2025, the Thai military, in cooperation with Thai authorities, has instructed its remaining civilians in the border area of Surin Province to evacuate by tonight.
The same sources also confirmed that the Thai military plans to launch attacks along the border starting from the Tamone Thom Temple, Ta Krabey Temple, Preah Vihear Temple, up to the Anseh area. These attacks are expected to commence soon, prior to the scheduled meeting of the Extraordinary Meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC) on 7 August 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This planned offensive constitutes a violation of the territorial sovereignty of Cambodia before the GBC meeting, and it is a serious breach of the ceasefire agreement mutually agreed upon by both countries on 28 July 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, with Malaysia, the United States, and China as witnesses.
Cambodia appeals to the international community to help prevent this at all costs and urges the Thai side to immediately stop its planned aggression, if this information is true, and to respect the ceasefire agreement fully for the sake of peace and stability along the border areas of both countries and the entire region.

During the recent conflict, a Thai F-16 dropped a U.S.-made MK-82 bomb equipped with an Israeli guidance system on Wat Ta Moan Senchey, a Buddhist pagoda in northern Cambodia.

“Nobody in Cambodia told me not to go to Thailand. However, almost everybody I spoke to in Thailand told me not to go to Cambodia.”
— from a foreigner who’s been to both countries.
That says a lot about their character, honestly.
