@erenbali@monogram_ai Congrats, Eren!! First-principles reasoning definitely points in this direction for the future of consumer AI product interfaces. Can’t wait to see where this goes.
All AI consumer interface innovations will happen on the computer graphics side because there isn’t anything else.
There are two output channels: the screen and the speakers.
Speakers: music and TTS (mature technology).
Screen: computer graphics (we’re just getting started).
It's time to get out of stealth 👋
Today, we are launching @monogram_ai and announcing our $40m seed round led by DST and Lux Capital.
Monogram is the first AI app that was built around a visual interface, from the ground up.
We created a technology that generates an entire user interface on the fly, in just a few seconds. Ask anything, and instead of staring at a wall of text, you get an interactive visual response.
Every piece of advice is a reaction to something that came before.
"Validate your idea before you go all-in" was a reaction to MBAs raising millions of dollars based on nothing but a business plan.
Today, young builders take that advice and quickly "invalidate" every idea they come up with.
Now the missing ingredient is conviction 🤷♂️
Not sure I have a compelling one-tweet answer to that question, but here goes:
AI is incredibly powerful, but a massive engineering headache.
So there are three stages:
1. realise it's incredibly powerful
2. realise it's a massive engineering headache
3. figure out the engineering headache to make it useful
Most companies are someone in step 1 or 2.
Very very few have completed 3 (except for "use chatgpt/claude as much better google search").
There's enormous TAM in helping with step 2, but we're early.
There's no way I'll give up on my startup idea just because some theory says I'm wrong since I talked to 100 seed funds and none invested.
It's not that I actually talked to 100 seed funds. It's just that even if I had, and they all said no, it wouldn't make a difference.
3D computer-animated multivariable calculus course in 6 languages!
It also has an AI chat that understands the entire lecture context. You can ask about any visual on screen, any equation, anything. It just knows.
