I can take a stab at this, if I may.

It seems that many on both sides are not too fond of the idea of peace, but not for the same reasons.

The Palestinians who are disinterested in peace are against it because they reject an Israeli state. The Israelis who are disinterested in peace believe the Palestinians do not want peace with them, precisely because they reject an Israeli state. This makes them fear acceptance of peace treaties that are later violated in the perennial pursuit for the destruction of Israel. (Caveat: some far-right Israelis, regardless of circumstances, don’t want peace with Palestinians in any capacity at any time, but they statistically represent a very small percentage).

So to cure this mutual disinterest in peace, it would seem that a widespread Palestinian acceptance of the state of Israel and a commitment to living alongside them in harmony would effectuate in Israeli’s a mutual desire for peace, no longer fearing that peace is just a temporary ruse before a future attack, but a genuine acceptance of two states.

Adi Vital-Kaploun’s last moments on earth were pure horror. Hamas gunmen were in her house and they had captured her two little boys.

Adi, an Israeli and Canadian citizen, was shot in front of her two sons, four-year-old Negev and 4½-month-old Eshel.

Ruth Peretz and her father, Arik.

Ruth is a 16-years-old Israeli with cerebral palsy who loves music. She and her father were last seen at the desert music festival that was attacked by Hamas.

In footage, Arik was seen carrying his daughter with Hamas terrorists chasing them down. Both are now being held hostage in Gaza.

Ruth has urgent medical needs. It is an act of monstrous barbarity to hold this girl hostage.
