I don’t know who needs this right now, but hey it’s not too late and you still have time. Life can happen and it sucks, it’ll bring you so much joy and still kick your ass at times. Despite that, you’ll get to where you need to be. If you have something you love and you’re passionate about please feed that side of yourself more. Be kinder and surround yourself with genuine people, that helps make the difference. You got this.
▶️ Commercial is for merchandising
▶️ Monetized is any art used for your brand, whether it profits you directly or indirectly (Starting soon screen, streaming assets, etc)
The fact that you will not earn more from the hosting platform is unrelated, what matters is that this profits your brand, your image. Just like an ad does not guarantee extra sales, but will still benefit your brand.
▶️ Personnal use is basically collecting, sharing to friends, just enjoying the art for yourself.
When you're a VTuber, you might end up being charged a "Monetized license" extra, because if you end up posting it publicly it's now a part of your brand (unlike anyone's OC or fanart comm).
Some would argue it's unfair, personnaly if it's a small content creator or just social media purpose I wouldn't charge but it's up to each artist's preference.
➡️ To conclude:
- Milking any VTuber just because they're a VTuber isn't fair, and Monetized usage should only be charged fairly when applicable.
- Never charging Monetized usage isn't fair either as artists should be compensated fairly for promotional material.
❔️: yo, i just checked my, i checked my phone.

People coming out of the woodwork to defend NTE's GenAI usage & most being Vtubers says quite a lot about the so called "community". Some of y'all acting like this is a little indie studio when they dumped thousands into promo. Money that could have gone to getting actual artists and animators. Wowie.
The fact it was used at all is bad enough, but to have lied about it in order to rope big creators into promoting it says all I need to know about the company. Apparently this isn't the first time they have been caught using it.
If they hold fanart contests and such, what's to say they won't feed all that art into AI? Is that really a risk people want to take?
What we say was what they thought they could get away with. We should be asking what else had GenAI involvement and disavow it.
But some Vtubers out there like sucking the AI tiddy & not think with their head dents.
people will see this and go "but I want to do stuff with my friends who are already at endgame", if your friends aren't playing older stuff with you as you go through the story then you need better friends
