この棋局は、1922年の Alexander Alekhine 対 Fred Dewhirst Yates の対局に由来します。この解釈では、氷神の神の心は白のキング、岩神の神の心は白のルークに相当します。白のキングはスネージナヤの女皇を、白のルークは鍾離を表していると見ることができます。また、PV内で女皇が死の執政と対峙していることから、黒のルークは死の執政を象徴している可能性があります。
PVの局面では、黒のルークが白キングに迫っており、一見すると女皇を脅かしているように見えます。しかし、黒のルークがいる f6 のマスは、黒の他の駒に守られていません。つまり、白キングは危険に陥ることなく、その黒ルークを取ることができます。これにより、白は目前の脅威を解消するだけでなく、一気に大きな優勢を得ます。
