Launch of the Irish National Audit of Stroke National Report 2023
Anne Marie Grogan, Senior Dietician, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda presents their QI Project 'Introducing nasogastric tube retention device in acute stroke patients: a pilot'.
The group found that the use of NG retention devices reduced the number of NG placements required per patient, thus reducing the number of chest X-rays required in order to confirm proper placement of an NG tube, creating improved access to nutrition for the patient, reducing patient discomfort from multiple NG tube insertions, and reducing staff costs. #StrokeAudit
Why are HSE workers taking industrial action?
Because 1000s of jobs just disappeared with a stroke of a pen, with no plan on how to fill the gaps or any risk assessment on what impact this may have on patients.
Those on the frontlines are fighting back.
