@tartansoul@CP24 Public hospitals are all currently understaffed. Offer better pay for nurses for private healthcare, where do you think the existing public nurses will go? How will that impact the current hospitals and people who cannot afford private costs? 🤔
@bibicosplays I alerted a nurse to my room as the other woman (elderly, bedridden) had been hitting her call bell for like 30 minutes. I thought her button was broken but she responded to my call in 2 min. I explained why I rang &she goes “to be honest, we’re just waiting for her to bleed out”
@redfresds@DanGoorevitch@MelissaMar_C@birgitomo They don’t, you’re right. It’s mostly for medication consults and continued check ins. But of course they will listen to you and make recommendations about lifestyle changes or treatments to pursue - the issue is that those treatments are almost impossible to access without $$
@redfresds@DanGoorevitch@MelissaMar_C@birgitomo You’d likely have the best luck searching for private psychiatrists in your area and you’d need a referral from a GP. Private psychiatry is still covered through OHIP but private psychiatrists can be selective with what referrals they take on for long term support.
@DanGoorevitch@MelissaMar_C@birgitomo I’m not talking about psychiatry. There are many counselling agencies that provide subsidized counselling for people on OW and ODSP. There’s also Wellness Together Canada where anyone with an an OHIP card can receive free 60 min sessions with a registered therapist (up to 10x)
@MelissaMar_C@birgitomo OHIP does cover counselling but only like 10 sessions a year unless you have a counsellor through your FHT (which are meant for mild to moderate mental illness aka not people who would consider MAiD)
@Scottewins69@MikeSchreiner@CUPEOntario@fordnation The schools aren’t the one they have the issue with. The people who are in control these limits on their wages are not inside the schools. Holy shit man why is this so tough for you to understand
@IngridJ49862103 @MikeSchreiner A good education is provided by employees who are fairly compensated for what they do. These people make 40k a year before taxes and other deductions are removed. Lol
