@Louisxsun28@erastourarg23 Apparently Lewis is expecting to get the penalty per his interviews after the race.
So we'll get the Norris podium in Silverstone again atleast for a 4th straight year.
@Louisxsun28 If Charles ever helped Lewis in the fight, maybe was more aggressive in trying to overtake George, maybe Lewis could have even tried to get much ahead of George. But instead Charles just hung back until Lewis burnt his tyres trying to fight for the win.
A shame, really.
@Louisxsun28 I don't even think it's the deg as much as it's the graining. Just ripped the tyre surface early multiple times.
Got better with it in the final stint for sure. We only got the Latest spec Merc PU in FP1 australia. We'll learn a lot more.
@Louisxsun28 I think there's potential for podiums later in the season of the upgrade packages do their jobs. Regardless I am happy that Lando felt more comfortable.
Mercs and Ferraris should be the only winners all season long.
@Louisxsun28 McLaren truly fucked up.
But I am still happy by Lando at the end of the race. Kept his head, kept cool and just learnt throughout the race. By the end doing low to mid 22s on like 20+ lap old mediums while defending from Max on 7 lap fresher hards.
@Louisxsun28 Tbh considering the Deployment issues, the damage to the front wing due to the Debris (the wing was literally dragging on final run Q3), I think he did alright. Like a tenth off Oscar and being right there isn't half bad.
His confidence also grew as the session continued.
@Louisxsun28 If they haven't felt the pain of races like Spa 2019, Spa 2021, Sochi 2021, etc. then they won't feel like greatness of Austria 2020, Silverstone 2023, Miami 2024, Mexico 2025, AD 2025, etc.
@p1nfluencer@kobayashicore I think I would have limited myself to only 1 pick per driver, which would have significantly improved the list imo. Would have given leeway also for Sainz in Baku, Antonelli in Brazil, Piastri in Bahrain etc.
@p1nfluencer I think might have been up there with his best Qualifying laps ever, including Monaco Pole, Spain P3 in 2023, Imola pole in 2021 etc.
I lost almost all hope after Charles put two tenths on him in first runs of Q3, but then a triple purple was just gorgeous.
Love it.
@p1nfluencer He did not do a very good lap. That's for sure, but being sent out on a slippery track with 6 lap old softs did not help either. He is making mistakes yes, but the pressure from McLaren at this point is just too much every time. The Zandvoort engine DNF literally wrecked it all.
@p1nfluencer Meanwhile Red Bull have somehow found their 2023 pace and Verstappen is on another planet again. If they're competitive in Singapore as well, we're going to have Max in the fight until the season finale.
@p1nfluencer I'll still take it overall because we gain points on Oscar and Lando is getting stronger comparatively pace wise, but it irks me so much because we could have been barely 13 points behind at the end of today if they executed properly.
@carwheelinghonk It's a weird feeling. On one hand I can rest easy knowing one of my two favs will go through to the 4th round regardless, and might be the first second in USO for Emma since 2021.
On the other hand, losing either of them in such good forms will be painful. They deserve more.
@Louisxsun28 Much, more improved weekend now. I was already quite happy with how the Sprint went, but now to get pole is even better, and to get track position on Oscar and priority on team strategy as well.
Let's see what happens tomorrow, but I'm cautiously optimistic.
