We pay tribute to Samrat Anangpal Tomar II (r. c. 1051 – c. 1081 CE), the valiant ruler of the Tomar Rajput dynasty of Delhi.
“On earth there is a country called Hariyana, resembling heaven; there, the city called Dhillika was built by the Tomars.”

आज, नामवर सिंह गहरवार जी कि जयंती पर हम प्रख्यात साहित्यकार, आलोचक, भाषाविद्, शिक्षाविद् और चिंतक नामवर सिंह को श्रद्धापूर्वक नमन करते हैं।

नामवर सिंह (28 जुलाई 1926 – 19 फ़रवरी 2019) हिंदी साहित्य के अग्रणी आलोचकों, भाषाविदों, शिक्षाविदों और सिद्धांतकारों में से एक थे। उन्होंने Banaras Hindu University से पीएचडी की उपाधि प्राप्त की और वहीं कुछ समय तक अध्यापन भी किया। इसके बाद उन्होंने देश के कई विश्वविद्यालयों में हिंदी साहित्य के प्रोफेसर के रूप में अपनी सेवाएँ दीं।

वे Jawaharlal Nehru University के भारतीय भाषा केंद्र (Centre of Indian Languages) के संस्थापक और प्रथम अध्यक्ष रहे। वर्ष 1992 में सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद भी वे प्रोफेसर एमेरिटस के रूप में विश्वविद्यालय से जुड़े रहे।

उनकी साहित्यिक दृष्टि, आलोचनात्मक चिंतन और हिंदी भाषा एवं साहित्य के प्रति उनका योगदान सदैव स्मरणीय रहेगा।
