DRDO's Netra Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system is set to receive Final Operational Clearance (FOC), marking a major milestone for India's indigenous defence capabilities.

Mounted on the ERJ-145 platform, Netra acts as India's "eyes in the sky," capable of detecting aircraft, tracking aerial threats, and providing real-time battlefield awareness to commanders. The achievement means the system has successfully completed development, testing, and operational evaluations, allowing it to serve as a fully mature military capability.

Beyond surveillance, Netra represents India's growing ability to design and field advanced airborne defence systems, reducing dependence on foreign suppliers and strengthening the country's long-term defence self-reliance.
