Nearly 83000 Sikh soldiers were killed and over 100,000 got wounded in both the World Wars, while fighting for the Allied forces.
In the Gallipoli campaign of WWI, 14th Sikh regiment was virtually wiped out with loss of 379 officers and men in one day’s fighting on 4th June 1915.
