We'll be watching. She is in ICU, but the police chief characterized it as "a pushing match, and she ended up on the ground with a bump on her head.” They not going to sweep this under the rug. https://t.co/qTPArY52i9
Meteorologists Get Death Threats as Hurricane Milton Conspiracy Theories Thrive
It's their job to warn residents about destructive storms — but political polarization has made them targets online.

Attempting to get news on #Florida through @X has become impossible. It's endless posts about woke mind viruses, election rigging, and geo-engineering storms - all linked back to #HurricanMilton. I can't find anything sensible anymore 🫠
A Mississippi Today investigation shows that more than $7 million in state taxpayer dollars flowed to improve the north Mississippi neighborhood — including a private country club golf course — where powerful lawmaker Trey Lamar lives.

And getting a little lost in this is that poor people should be able to go to college. My parents couldn't afford to put a penny toward my education (and they were very hard working folks), I worked all through undergrad and grad school, and STILL had 100K loans.
Americans with student loans are out here begging people to listen because we are spending DECADES paying on these loans, but the balances never move. I have paid my entire loan balance from 2006 + $10,000, & I still owe more than the original loan. THIS IS CALLED USURY, & it is the norm. Debt consolidation scams are also rampant. My debt is on the lower end, but people are out here with 6 figure loan balances they will NEVER pay off. These aren’t loans, it’s crime.
Unfortunately, a lot of people—older Americans especially—have no idea this is our reality. Individuals are blamed, instead of the *extremely lucrative* student loans scam. People say, “Just pay your debts.” WE PAID OUR DEBTS, and then we paid them again, & again, & again. The balances never budge. I graduated college 20 years ago. End Stage Capitalism is SO bleak.
i honestly believe this will be shown in sociology classes for years to come. this photo & everything it has come to signify says so much about our society & the insidious nature of racism.
The execution of Marcellus Williams is a horrible injustice. This didn’t have to happen. Just a couple weeks ago, prosecutors—with the support of the victim’s family—had reached a plea agreement with Marcellus that took death off the table.
What does it say about our legal system when the U.S. Supreme Court refuses to stop an execution even when the county prosecuting agency that handled the original trial files a brief in support of a stay and supports vacating the entire conviction? #MarcellusWilliams
my favorite part in persuasion is when captain wentworth is like "I hate those who are easily persuaded. look at this hazelnut. it's so strong and unyielding. unlike some people"
@JoshMankiewicz I have a 2nd acct that I have kept far FAR away from American politics (and US news in general) One day I got on and my FY was full of right-wing nonsense. I blocked as many as I could, but they still pop up. Funny how no blue twitter accts ever appear!
The @NAACP is urgently calling on Gov. Mike Parson to stop the execution of #MarcellusWilliams. In an open letter, they warned that executing Marcellus would be a “horrible miscarriage of justice” and a reflection of Missouri’s troubling racial past. https://t.co/eYdZditsT9
