@thsottiaux When Codex tries to auto-compact a thread, I very often get this error.
One workaround is to switch to another model, recover the thread, and then switch back to the model you were working with. It usually works, but it interrupts the workflow.
@thsottiaux Codex still has a serious local thread bug: older project chats disappear from the sidebar, though JSONL sessions and SQLite state remain intact. It breaks project continuity and seems known/ reported, yet persists after many updates.
Any fix coming?

This issue in Codex is ruining the entire experience. It happens constantly. Sometimes you can get the thread working again by stopping it, switching models, and restarting, but it takes a lot of time.
Most of the time, you are forced to start a new thread and begin the task again. When you are working in a long thread with a lot of context, that is obviously a major problem.
This has been an issue ever since GPT-5.5 was introduced, and fixing it should be an absolute top priority for the developers. @thsottiaux@OpenAIDevs
This is a seriously disruptive Codex bug: once it appears, I can’t continue working in that thread. I’ve used Codex for a long time, but these errors only started recently. It doesn’t happen every time, but often enough that I have to start a new thread and lose all flow. @thsottiaux@OpenAIDevs
@thsottiaux This is so annoying. It started a few days ago. When it happens, the thread is dead and I have to start a new one. This was never a problem for me before 5.5.
@aryanlabde I’m currently on the $100 Codex plan, but I’m very close to needing to step up to $200. I use Codex for basically everything in my company now, and the value it produces is honestly extreme.
@JamesZmSun Chrome extension is great, but have you removed the internal browser in Codex? Since yesterday’s update, there doesn’t seem to be an internal browser anymore. I hope this is just a bug.
Hey @antigravity
Why am I locked out of Gemini Pro 3.1 for 6(!) days after only doing some light Antigravity coding on my Pro account? Is there a low weekly usage limit?
Hey @OpenAI@OpenAIDevs@romainhuet, project handling in ChatGPT web is really slow. The projects list can take up to a minute to load. Please add a simple projects view where I first see all projects and then the chats inside each, like in Claude.
