At workplace, you can usually tell who's miserable outside of work- they make work their entire personality. Gossiping, bullying, sabotaging, dividing people and causing chaos because it's the only place they feel any sense of power. Outside of work, they're losers with nothing real going for them, so they cling to the little control they can get.
The key to living a comfortable life is confrontation and chaos actually. You have to say no. You have to tell people to fck off. You have to be mean in necessary situations.
Distance yourself from every person who makes you feel like a lesser being. Someone who makes you edit yourself. Lower your standards. Become a watered-down version of yourself just to make them feel comfortable. They're triggers of what you're trying to leave behind. Let them go. Without guilt.
Just a friendly reminder. Train yourself not to become too emotionally attached to anyone because when they stop communicating or stop talking to you, you might not recover from it. Remember, people wake up with different feelings everyday. That’s why it’s important to stay grounded and not rely too much on anyone for your happiness. Protect your peace.
