[Stop Acid Attacks @StopAcidAttacks]

A woman asked for her legal share. She was threatened. She complained to police.
And days later, acid was thrown on her.
This is the story of Santoshi Sharma Rajak from Balurghat, West Bengal. #JusticeForSantoshi

Santoshi had already filed a complaint on March 11, naming those threatening her over a land dispute.

On March 14, while on her way to the police station AGAIN, she was attacked with acid.

No arrests have been made yet.

The accused are still roaming freely.

Santoshi, her mother, and her 18-year-old daughter are living in fear.

She asked for protection. She was told police are busy with election duties.

Is her life less important?

After successfully establishing and rehabilitating survivors through our cafés in Agra, Lucknow and Noida, we are now set to launch a new cafe in the heart of the capital at Sultanpur, Delhi this September.

We are requesting Hon’ble Delhi @gupta_rekha Ji, known for her commitment to women empowerment, to support and inaugurate our café as our sheroes begin this new journey of hope and dignity.

For the past two months, our team has been working tirelessly to make this conference on acid attack awareness possible. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to @CPPuneCity Commissioner, Shri Amitesh Kumar Sir and the entire Commissionerate for their support in hosting it during #sheroesyatra in #Pune.

This landmark collaboration marks a historic moment in our journey. It strengthens our mission to end acid violence, inspires society to stand with survivors, and marks the beginning of a brighter future for acid attack victims in #Maharashtra .

Today marks a heartfelt journey of 9 years since @SheroesHangout first opened its doors. As the founder, I reflect back on the day we started in 2014 - a small yet determined step towards creating a space that was more than just a café. It was our alternative to an office of @StopAcidAttacks campaign, a hub for change, and a beacon of hope for acid attack survivors.

From those initial days with limited resources, Sheroes has grown into a testament of resilience and empowerment, evolving into India's most significant café chain dedicated to supporting acid attack survivors. Here, over 30 incredible survivors have not only found employment but also a path to healing and reclaiming their lives.
Each cup of coffee served and every smile shared within the walls of Sheroes narrates a story of courage and triumph. This café has become a sanctuary where survivors turn their scars into powerful tales of survival and strength.
As I write this, my heart swells with pride and emotion for the journey we have undertaken together. The survivors at Sheroes aren't just staff; they are the bravest souls I have ever known, and their spirit is the cornerstone of our success.

Although this message comes a bit late in the day, the emotions and gratitude it carries are timeless. Sheroes Hangout is more than a café - it's a movement, a family, a symbol of empowerment that we've built together.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, believed in our cause, and joined hands in our mission. We've come a long way, but the journey continues. Here's to the undying spirit of Sheroes and to many more years of making a difference!

करवा चौथ के पवित्र दिवस पर, जब एक पत्नी पारंपरिक रूप से अपने पति की दीर्घायु के लिए व्रत रखती है, उसी दिन ग्रेटर नोएडा में एक पत्नी पर उसके पति द्वारा एक घृणित एसिड हमला किया गया। यह क्रूरता की एक नियोजित कार्रवाई थी जिसने न केवल एक जीवन को बिखेर दिया बल्कि हमारे समुदाय को भी स्तब्ध कर दिया।

शाम के लगभग 4 बजे, एक पति ने अपनी पत्नी के प्रति विश्वासघात की एक क्रूरता की कहानी शुरू की। अंतरंगता के बहाने, उसने उसे बाथरूम में ले जाकर उससे कपड़े उतारने को कहा, और उसे अपने हाथ बंधवाने के लिए राजी किया - एक ऐसा विश्वास जिसका जवाब उसने अकथनीय हिंसा से दिया। उसका मुंह काटन से बंद किया गया, उसके पैर बाँध दिए गए, और फिर, एक अकल्पनीय क्रूरता के अधीन, उसके कंधे पर चाकू से वार किया गया। लेकिन सबसे बुरा अभी बाकी था; उसने अपनी बेबस, नग्न देह पर एसिड डालना शुरू किया, धीरे-धीरे उसे डालते हुए, उसके शरीर को जलाते हुए, उसके गुप्तांगों तक को नहीं

स्थानीय पुलिस की प्रतिक्रिया अत्यंत चिंताजनक रही है। समय पर कार्रवाई और पीड़िता के प्रति समर्थन की बजाय, FIR दर्ज करने में देरी की गई और इस घटना की गंभीरता को कम करके आंकने की कोशिश की गई। प्रतीत होता है कि तथ्यों को छिपाने और हमले की प्रकृति को कम करके दिखाने का प्रयास किया गया, इसे केवल एक घरेलू झगड़ा बताया जा रहा है।

न्याय के लिए हमारे संघर्ष में, हमने पुलिस आयुक्तालय के साथ बैठक की है, इस त्रासदी के मामले दोषी अधिकारियों लिए जवाबदेही की मांग की है।

करवा चौथ के दिन जो हुआ वह हमारी सामाजिक मूल्यों को चुनौती देता है। यह घटना महिलाओं के सामने खड़े खतरों की एक कड़ी याद दिलाती है। हम इस मामले पर अभियान चला रहे हैं, यह सोचते हुए कि इस तरह की घटनाओं को इतनी आसानी से नहीं लिया जा सकता, और अगर हम इस बार बोलेंगे नहीं, तो यह चलता ही रहेगा। हालांकि यह लड़ाई कितनी भी कठिन क्यों न हो, हम आखिरी तक लड़ेंगे। अगर आप सभी समर्थन कर सकें, तो यह हमारे लिए भी आसान हो जाएगा।
