According to John Willis in his highly quoted paper called “Torodbe clerisy; social overview “, he outlined and explains the origin of the Torodbe and their origins.
The Torodbes were an amalgamation of low caste and poor wanderers from different sahelian cultures and societies who banded together for survival and accepted Islam as a cultural identity and social identity.

Torodbe means beggars. They saw poverty and wretchedness as a badge of honour and were seen as low caste of every west African society. With time, they became Arabized and adopted Islam not just as a religion but a tool of social climbing. They started to act as religious class of the Fulanis and started to intermarry with the Fulanis and also speak Fulfude together with Arabic language.

The Torodbe introduced the culture of “beggarship” across conquered societies as a form of Islamic culture and Puritanism. That culture is what is called Almanjiri in Northern Nigeria today.
Almanjiri is not a Hausa, Fulani or Islamic culture, it was the culture of the conquering Torodbe ethnicity who imposed their poverty culture on the societies they conquered.
In other words, the Torodbe were an amalgam of beggars and poor people who lived off begging on the streets but successfully used Islam as a tool of power.

Ask yourselves if any Islamic society openly encourages “beggar culture “ like we see in Northern Nigeria???? None! That culture is an identity of the Torodbes who were beggars 300 years but now the rulers of the Sokoto caliphate. Torodbes believe that converted pagans must be poor and beg for sustenance before they can serve God. That is what they turned Hausas into. This is why you see this Emirs feel comfortable with this effervescent poverty in Arewa. This is because it’s a cultural phenomenon of the Ruling Torodbes.
They adopted Arabic language and any local language where they find themselves in Africa. The Torodbe fused with Fulanis between the 16th century to 19th century just the Fulanis fused with Hausas as a way to rule conquered people.

The Torodbe created Torodbe-Fulani hybrid with the Torodbe ruling the Fulanis via political Islam. That Torodbe aristocracy created the Hausa-Fulani fusion in order to rule the Hausas and Fulanis.
The same Torodbe class created Arewa, in order to rule everybody in the area called Northern Nigeria via Political Islamism.

Club Brugge president Bart Verhaeghe has revealed just how highly Arsenal officials already rate the 24-year-old winger.

Tzolis has made an excellent start to life at Arsenal, registering 3 assists in his first 4 appearances and looking increasingly comfortable on the left wing.

FG AUTOMATES ACADEMIC CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION, ELIMINATES PHYSICAL VISITS TO EDUCATION MINISTRY

The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the full automation of academic certificate evaluation and authentication, eliminating the need for applicants to visit the Ministry physically.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, said the initiative is a major step in the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda and aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Under the new system, applicants can complete the entire credential evaluation and authentication process online through the Ministry’s dedicated platform. The reform is designed to reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks, accelerate processing, improve transparency and provide more convenient services to Nigerians and applicants within and outside the country.

Dr. Alausa explained that the initiative will strengthen the integrity and credibility of Nigeria’s academic certification system while enabling institutions, employers and other stakeholders to verify qualifications through a more structured and reliable process.

The Minister reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to using technology to modernise education governance, improve institutional efficiency and deliver citizen-centred services.

UTHMAN DAN FODIO WAS NOT ETHNICALLY FULANI

According to J.R Willis, the Torodbe group were rootless and wandering people who adopted political Islam as a tool of identity before they fused with the Fulani ethnicity.
Dan Fodio belong to the Torodbe group who were nomads and were assimilated into the Fulani ethnicity via political Islamism and intermarriage.

According to Finn Finglestad, it is therefore academically incorrect to regard the Dan Fodio Jihad as a Fulani Jihad, it was a Torodbe-Fulani Jihad.
We need to understand the ethnogenesis of the Sahel and I will be doing proper and in depth analysis of this aspect of history.

Dan Fodio was not a Fulani just the way the Yaradua’s are Tuaregs not Fulanis.
The Sultan of Sokoto is not Fulani, he is Torodbe. In the same vein, the Shehu of Borno is Kanembu-Arab not Kanuri.
The Kanembu are Arabized Chadic people who speak Arabic language in present day Chad today.

Most of the aristocratic families in Arewa today are assimilated Arabs, Tuaregs, Torodbes who are using the Fulani identity for convenience.

This gives credence to many of my assertions that what we see in the core North is the frontier agenda for the Arabization of West Africa.
