We owe those who serve the UK the kit to do the job and the loyalty to stand by them when it's done. We are failing on both.
I’ve spent my whole time in government making that case. Number 10 will not listen, so I am resigning as Minister for the Armed Forces.

The UK again condemns Israeli settlements while it:
❌refuses to ban trade with them
❌keeps military accord w/Israel
❌keeps trade & partnership accord
❌continues arms exports
❌refuses to mention Israeli nukes
❌refuses to respond to ICJ ruling on OPTs https://t.co/2UkE0LIxOH
How intriguing that you’ve chosen not to post guidance like this before the numerous hate marches we’ve seen in London - all of which have involved antisemitic chants, slogans, symbols and banners.
Two tier policing at its finest.
@Heccles94 The professional head of any public body has a moral duty to their men & women on the frontline. It is not political to defend the lawful and necessary actions of your officers. Cheap point scoring doesn't immunise you from criticism of that point scoring
@owenjonesjourno@james_e_b_ Maybe you should consider why your first thought is to consider why your first step when police officers take on an armed terrorist is to criticise the police officers.
Interesting isn't it how @metpoliceuk hasn't arrested a SINGLE Briton who has committed WAR CRIMES participating in a GENOCIDE despite being given a dossier of at least 10, however, are arresting OLD PEOPLE for holding pieces of paper opposing genocide! @AmnestyUK@hrw@IntlCrimCourt
What an incredibly immoral waste of resources.
Peaceful protesters quietly holding signs expressing forbidden opinions of solidarity against genocide, arrested en-masse by this ridiculous force on behalf of a craven, pathetic government.
One of Orwell's nightmares materialised would be this: potential war criminals and arm manufacturers implicated in a genocide allowed to roam and operate freely, while citizens get arrested for opposing a genocide.
When will UK ‘mainstream’ media report that Britain has a military cooperation agreement with Israel…
… which has been in place throughout the Gaza genocide, the mass bombing of Iran and the brutal strikes on Lebanon? https://t.co/b9FCTz1uzb
Any detention of a United Nations peacekeeper is a blatant violation of international law. Any interference with the work of peacekeepers is also a violation of resolution 1701.
Israel killed 3 Indonesian UN peacekeepers in South Lebanon.
They were wearing blue helmets.
They were in UN uniforms.
They were peacekeepers.
Israel bombed them anyway.
Not a peep in Western media.
Not a word from the international community.
Kick Israel out of the UN.
Retired 4-Star Navy Admiral and former Navy SEAL William McRaven on Donald Trump: "Through your actions, you have embarrassed us in the eyes of our children, humiliated us on the world stage and, worst of all, divided us as a nation."
RETWEET if you stand with Admiral McRaven!
We are outraged to learn that Canada has banned @RimaHas, Member of the European Parliament for France, from entering the country ahead of her public talks on opposing fascism and liberating Palestine.
In justifying its sudden reversal, Canada has cited the fact that apartheid Israel had blocked her delegation of European MEPs from entering its territory last year, and due to complaints made against her political advocacy. This follows a campaign by Israeli diplomats and the pro-Israel lobby who pushed for the ban.
This indicates that Canada has decided to endorse Israel's accusations against a Palestinian refugee and European lawmaker. Instead of upholding its own laws, Canada is acting as an extension of Israel's apartheid system.
We urge authorities to rescind this decision and explain this arbitrary act of censorship against a European official.
🚨 This is extraordinary.
UK security services raiding a lawyer acting in a torture case against the state, and seizing legal files.
That strikes at legal privilege, fair trial rights, and the rule of law itself.
“The UK government’s raid of a lawyer’s office in the case of a Guantanamo Bay suspect allegedly tortured by the CIA with UK knowledge is “extremely troubling”, the High Court has heard.”

This is ridiculous. Not everyone will agree with everything she says but she doesn't need to be getting arrested every two minutes. Over 2000 Brits served in the IDF, committed war crimes and just came back to the UK to live quietly, an off-duty Jewish officer harassed and racially abused Al Jazeera journalists in the street, but the police are wasting time and resources hounding a Palestinian doctor
