i found a very cool algorithm: poisson disc sampling
it lets you place objects in a random but uniform & natural looking way
it's surprising how often this algorithm shows up where you'd expect plain old .random() to work just fine
it's widely used in gamedev for procedural object placement (trees, enemies, props) and computer graphics. i discovered it when i needed to place a bunch of assets scattered on a BG layer
see the difference b/w random vs. poisson disc sampling:
I don't know about the hiring side, but I can share a perspective from the other side of the table.
Every time I've wanted to work with someone, I just start working on the problems they're facing / solving. Eventually you reach a point where it's a no-brainer for us to work together.
The worst that happens is I end up learning somethings deeply. Either case, fun!
One of my fav. companies ever just removed 10,000 tonnes of CO2 from the air - @AltCarbonIndia.
It's an astonishing feat and deserves nothing but massive respect and gratitude! One of the best world class companies being built out of India. โค๏ธ
The Age of AI demands planetary-scale Carbon Dioxide removal.
@AltCarbonIndia is using volcanic rock dust to geochemically pull carbon out of the atmosphere โ and we just proved it works at scale. The world's largest issuance of carbon credits through Enhanced Rock Weathering.
~10,000 tonnes of COโ removed. Enough to offset a small AI data centre.
India has a history of scientific breakthroughs that stun the world โ across medicine, space exploration, energy, & financial inclusion.๐ฎ๐ณ
Climate Change is the most significant existential threat to our species. It demands Himalayan Ambitions.
We're moving mountains to make that happen. Literally.
Genuinely asking, is there a way I can stop hearing about the war on my TL? It's making my cortisol levels go through the roof. I don't like this feeling of doom :(
@archicreates these are not mere marketing lessons, this is also a guide on how you build a culture of intentionality and attention to detail within a company.
loved reading this, ty for sharing!
@_svs_@the2ndfloorguy Yes exactly. People who are hating have no love for the game. They aren't nerdy / passionate enough. And fwiw, I feel it's a better data science project than any overdone useless tableau shit. Learn from him folks!
@TanisheeJain I think you'll have a great time checking out CrackingTheCryptic on youtube. I was amazed to find out that there exists so many variants of Sudoku. I had a whole Sudoku phase last year and it's honestly very fun! https://t.co/Zqm9dRA6vQ
2026 for me is all about idea โ action ASAP
in 2025 i made the mistake of letting too many ideas die by not taking action, always planning, and always dreaming.
realized that this is a big trap.
ideas are worth dime a dozen if i don't bring them to life.
summary of first week of 2026:
- reached out to 8 leads w/ ideas, heard back from 6
- sent 1st message <2d from the first idea
- meetings scheduled / talks ongoing
feeling a breath of fresh air with this velocity
sometimes it feels uncomfortable moving without ALL the planning done, but realizing slowly that i would have to take decisions and move fast with only half the context / info sometimes.
god bless ๐งฟ
@speakingofarpit indulge in this idea for a sec: host a speed-interview event, speed-dating style. because even hiring can happen offlyn! ;) just see who you vibe with.
