Arch of Ctesiphon (Taq Kasra), located 40 km south of Baghdad, Iraq.

It was built in 6th century AD. It is the world’s largest brick vault and largest free-standing arch constructed until modern times.

A part of a Sasanian palace complex, it stands at 37m high and 26m wide, making it a unique monument of great historical and cultural significance.

Two spectacular portraits of Oceanus, Titan god of the great ocean encircling the world, belonging to a mosaic floor discovered in 1823 in a vineyard near the Via Portuense in Rome. Other fragments of the lavish mosaic were embedded in the floors of Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire, before being disassembled in the 1980's and eventually sold to private collectors. Early 2nd century AD.
