Twenty-one illegal immigrants were arrested during Operation Prosper/Karabo in Ekurhuleni this week.
Police also arrested suspects for possession of drugs, explosives and counterfeit cigarettes.
During the operation, law enforcement seized illegal mining equipment, including 104 phendukas, 21 steel pot crushers, 19 generators, 11 explosives, six gas cylinders, three hammers, three stampers and five phenduka stands.
Authorities say the ongoing operation is aimed at disrupting illegal mining activities, combating illicit trade and reducing crime across Gauteng.
Police have urged communities to support law enforcement efforts and report criminal activity through Crime Stop or the MySAPS app.
