OUR CONSTITUTION’S 14TH BIRTHDAY REHEARSALS:
The police violently dispersed and arrested some of our righteous comrades in the worship team during our rehearsal for tomorrow’s commemoration service for our constitution’s 14th birthday.
In a move to slow us down and exalt the devil, their intention is to detain them and delay us with bureaucratic processes.
Regardless, #RutoMustGo!
Not sure what misguided me in following the requiem mass for Rita Tinina, maybe it was because of Robert Nagila. I don't know him on any level but curiosity got the better of me. Plus he speaks like a very good friend of mine, I did not know that till today. No TV, No Radio in the house is me but one day I will explain my relationship with sound and light.
I have been called Rita Tinina so many times that when she passed on I knew that was something. So I did what I do best with emotions. I ran away from engaging completely with the subject.
Now I found myself following her funeral service by accident. Never have I heard the name Rita mentioned so many times in relation to death. It was like attending my own funeral service. It felt in every sense like it.
I don't have a partner who would be called to speak. Well a few Exes here and there but mostly because they are just good people. Nothing to do with our relationship status. I am not building a life with anyone so what would my person say in public ? Neither am I trying to intentionally hide a male human whom I am in a relationship with. But whatever relations there are, is not for building life together, it's for personal joy, held with a very open palm of freedom.
Who would tell my two daughters, "we will do everything for you now that mummy is gone?". Those girls, one calls herself my soulmate and the other my best friend. They take care of me and bring me up as I do the same for them. I have always said I love them completely and thoroughly everyday and we should all sleep knowing we gave It our all. If they wake up and I am not there, I better not leave any love and teaching undone.
I for sure do not have a 20 year old sisterhood of friends, not even a chama, no pall bearers as her group called themselves. I like my people served one at a time calmly and quietly with a lot of laughter. Not all at once and programmed frequently. So no, peopling is not my strength.
I long decided I am emotionally and physically lazy and fashioned my life just that way. If you don't find yourself in my house (if I let you) then we probably may never meet outside a work environment. So bad that I don't have a guest bedroom but a number of unoccupied rooms, with no beds.
So yes, I asked myself what my series of bosses and colleagues would say about me, my work, my attitude, my commitment, my passing forward, mentoring and temperament. Did I add value, was the value specific and differentiated, was it useful to the big picture?
Rita Tinina has left me with so many questions. Including if the little sharp pain on my right side of the chest is an infection that may one day be fatal.
The faces I could see and feel in all these are of these three ladies Linda Oyier-Maari, Vel Amosh, Beryl Oyier. They are my daughter's mother's, my best friends, present companions, laugh partners and now I realize the only people I truly have. My mother did a good job giving me these ones. And I have done a fairly poor job expanding beyond the uteruses in my family 🤭.
