A South African truck driver was forced to resign after being mistaken for a foreign national in a video

The driver (a local South African) was stopped, likely during protests and tensions over foreign truck drivers taking jobs.

A crowd accused him of being a foreigner (possibly because he didn’t speak Zulu fluently. He was confronted aggressively.

In the video, he was reportedly pressured/threatened into resigning immediately. His phone was allegedly broken when he tried to record the incident.

He stated he was accused of being a foreigner “in my own country” and felt victimised.

A mother said her son was killed because he was Tsonga. The world doubted her. Grief + suspicion is a cruel combination.

Now new reports say: He was attacked by a mob. He ran into a shack for shelter. He took his last breath there. The owner allegedly called for help with others. The suspect has been released.

If the police narrative was wrong, then we owe that mother more than an apology. We owe her the truth. Full truth. No spin.

Nhlamulo was not a statistic. He was a son. He spoke Tsonga. He ran for his life. He died for being a Tsonga.

So the Police lied about the murder of Nhlamulo Sambo and the claim that he was killed by the owner of the shack.

The suspect has now been released and says that Nhlamulo Sambo was attacked by a mob, Nhlamulo ran into the shack to seek shelter, and when the owner arrived, that is when he took his last breath. The owner then allegedly called an ambulance with other community members.

The Mother was was correct all this time, Nhlamulo Sambo was killed because he was Tsonga
