Anshuman, youngest child of Smt Manju and veteran Subedar Ravi Pratap Singh, was a brilliant student who cracked one of the toughest entrances to be selected to Armed Forces Medical College. He proudly became a doctor in Olive Green

Soon after marriage to Smriti Singh, he was posted to serve as Resident Medical Officer(RMO) at a high altitude Field Hospital on Siachen Glacier - the world's highest battlefield

On this day in 2023, at about 3 am, Capt Anshuman Singh rushed out of his shelter on hearing the alarm for fire breaking out. It was dark and bitterly cold with icy winds and the fire raged in adjacent shelters housing braves...

Realising that many soldiers were trapped by fire and smoke in fibreglass hut, the soldier-doctor rushed inside to save them and helped 4-5 soldiers out. Next he saw the Medical investigation room under fire. Putting aside his own safety, he entered to retrieve the medical box when high velocity winds fanned the fire & engulfed him before he could be saved... 💔

26 year old Capt Anshuman Singh, a doctor in uniform, was first and foremost a fearless and compassionate soldier who upheld the motto - 'the safety and welfare of the men you command comes first... and your own safety comes last - always and everytime'🙏🇮🇳

On the third Balidan Diwas of forever 26 year old Capt Anshuman Singh KC, please keep his grieving parents, wife and siblings in your prayers 🙏

A giant has left us.
His legacy is eternal.

In the late 1960s, Prof. Kaivilayil V Johny trained in renal transplantation at Adelaide, Australia. He returned with a mission, and changed Indian Nephrology forever.

On 2nd February 1971, Prof. KV Johny & Prof. Mohan Rao performed India's FIRST successful kidney transplant at CMC Vellore — a defining moment in the history of Indian medicine.

He founded the Department of Nephrology at CMC Vellore in 1971 - the first of its kind, and launched India's first DM Nephrology training programme, seeding a generation of kidney specialists across the nation.

Under his leadership, CMC Vellore became the gold standard for nephrology & renal transplantation in India.

He was not just a clinician — he was a builder, a teacher, and a visionary who trained nephrologists who now lead kidney care across India and the world.

"A visionary who opened the doors of kidney transplantation in India and transformed the future of renal care."

Rest in peace, Prof. Johny. CMC Vellore and Indian Nephrology will forever stand on the shoulders of your life's work. 🙏

At the 78th Annual Conference of the Indian Radiological & Imaging Association (IRIA) 2026, held from 29 Jan to 01 Feb 2026 at Hyderabad, residents of the Dept of Radiology, #AFMC Pune delivered outstanding performances. Maj Avinash Sharma and Sqn Ldr Kailaash B won the Bronze Medal in the inaugural International PG Quiz with participation from 20 countries, while Sqn Ldr S Rajaram and Maj Pranjal Sharma emerged as West Zone Winners in the National IRIA Radiology Quiz bringing laurels to #AFMC on both global and national platforms. A testament to the exceptional training imparted at #AFMC.

Reached Egmore at 11 pm
Reached Home and realised that I kept by Wrist Watch in the Rest Room and forgot to take it back

12:28 am Lodged a Complaint in Railmadad Website : Gave my PNR Number, Coach and Seat details and written a brief complaint

12:31 am Got a Call from Railway Helpline : Confirming the complaint

12:34 am Got an SMS from Railway Helpline

12:49 am Got a Call from RPF saying that the vehicle has gone to yard and they have asked to check in Yard

01:12 am Got a message from Whatsapp with Two Photos of my watch

01:13 am Got the second call from RPF saying that they have found a watch and wanted to check whether it is mine

This is Amazing Work from all concerned
To be frank this is not even a "complaint". There is nothing wrong by the Railways. It was my mistake to keep the watch in the train.

Within 40 minutes of my complaint in the website, in the midnight, for no fault of theirs, a dozen people have worked.
Some one has registeed the complaint and informed the RPF
RPF has noted it
Some one has checked the platform and foud the train had gone to year
Some one has informed the yard
Some one in Yard had given instructions
Some one had gone to the train and found the watch
They have taken taken photo and passed it back the command chain
They have send the image to me and confirmed

They have informed the Helpline and I got a message that the complaint had been closed

Today Morning, I went to the Station, gave a letter requesting the watch, xerox copies of my ticket and Aadhar and got back my watch after signing the register

Big Shout out to all the dedicated workers of Southern Railways and Railway Protection Force

12 innocent children died in Madhya Pradesh after consuming a poisoned cough syrup.
And instead of arresting those who manufactured the poison - the pharma company and drug officials - the system went after the doctor who merely prescribed it.

What’s his fault?
He prescribed a medicine approved, tested, and sold legally.
Doctors are not chemists; they don’t test every batch.
That’s the job of the Drug Controller, pharma QA labs, and government regulators.

So where are those people now?
The company owners? The officials who cleared the syrup?
All untouched. All protected.

Because in India, the corrupt don’t fall - they hide behind the honest.
Arresting a doctor is easier than exposing the nexus of pharma, politics, and bureaucracy that allowed poison to reach children.

This is not justice. This is a cover-up - a system feeding on its own while the real killers walk free.

12 children are dead.
Their families deserve truth, not theatrics.
Arrest the manufacturers, the drug controllers, the corrupt chain that caused this tragedy - not the man who trusted the system to do its job.
