@KabanPiast@ShoahUkraine I write from the US. We left after trips to the camps, German then Siberia. Whatever ‘benefits’ you mention were lost on us. Communism worked so well, you eventually adopted capitalism. Winning!
@govt_corrupt Barcelona, go for Tapas, front and back of house all Indians. Stop at shop for a iPhone external battery, all Indians. Goto grocer, all Indians. ES is dead.
@MidwestBohunk@WallStreetApes You misunderstood me. I’m all for closing the Dept Of Ed and dissolving the existing educational system. That said, existing debtors are are the hook, no exit from their contracts. There are plenty of CC and Auto Loan debtors in similar situations, Ed loans are not special.
@MidwestBohunk@WallStreetApes My rates were 9 to 10% and I could run formulae through excel to optimize, something these ‘graduates’ appear incapable of doing themselves. Compound interest is not a state secret.
@MidwestBohunk@WallStreetApes If you took a loan, it’s on you and whatever consul you had. You’re right, pay up. GOV will not help here, they profit off this. Pay your own kids tuition and stay out of the system, if you sign a contract, that is binding and enforceable.
@MidwestBohunk@WallStreetApes Gotcha, no responsibility here rather we should give GOV more powers to fix this. Hand another gas can to the arsonist, it’ll be fine.
@MidwestBohunk@WallStreetApes So what is it you want? The College grad with the vaunted degree, but no knowledge of compound interest to be bailed out by the kids who skipped it and did shop class? Plenty of blame here but the taxpayer should not get involved.
@MidwestBohunk@WallStreetApes Dismantle with extreme force. The existing contracts are enforceable. If these contracts get amended, you are looking at violation of the takings clause of the Constitution, and it also opens everything up to revision. Without strong contracts, US ceases to exist.
@MidwestBohunk@WallStreetApes Borrowers entered into a contract and are bound by that. If I buy stock that goes under, and I lose my investment I get no protections. My house was underwater for most of the time I owned it, does GOV owe me in anyway to make me whole? Why are these loans different?
