Steve Wozniak on why you should build things for fun:
"It drives you to think and think and think and make it better and better and better than you ever would if you're doing it for a company."
Had Woz not built things for fun, he never would've created the Apple I. He never would've co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs.
The world's most valuable company wouldn't exist today if Woz didn't love playing with computers.
Never underestimate the value of building things for fun.
I stumbled on a cool Woz story a few days ago.
Seth Rogen was cast to play Woz in the Steve Jobs movie.
They became friends and Rogen and Woz went on a double date to a magic show (Woz loves magic).
Woz and his wife roll up on segways and Rogen is laughing.
These were 2 of the first segways ever made and they didnt have headlights so Woz and his wife were carrying flashlights.
"With one hand operating the Segway, the other holding a flashlight, they drove off looking as silly and happy as two people could," Rogen wrote.
"Steve Jobs might have gotten more money, recognition, and a better actor to play him, but Woz still came out on top."

Weirdly enough, Rogen and Woz are quite alike.
Rogen was a comedy nerd and wrote Superbad for fun at age 13.
He had no idea if it'd ever get made, but he had fun writing it.
You never know what will happen when you follow your fun.
