Why is it so difficult to count votes when counting an equivalent amount in money is done so efficiently, in minutes .

I watched one million dollars( $1m )being counted in some two churches recently - very fast and in record time !
But Politicians will take days , sometimes weeks to count anything under 10 million ballots and account for them !
