Imagine in 2026 LSR has moved classes online because a woman was gangraped in the park right outside campus.

I went to Gargi. I know that area. I know that commute. And I know the calculation every girl who studies in Delhi runs before she leaves the house - which route, what time, text someone when you reach, don't put both earphones in. Most of us do this so automatically we don't register it as fear anymore. It's just part of getting dressed in the morning.

I am so tired of this being normal. I am tired of "be careful" being the entire infrastructure this country has built for women's safety. I am tired of the solution to a gangrape outside a college being to send the women home. I am tired of living in a capital city where one of the best colleges in the country cannot guarantee that its students can walk to class.

It is now 4 years since we spotted a traffic jam on google maps, on the Russian-Ukrainian border, just hours before the invasion started.

Still crazy to me that this was probably Russian soldiers that hadn’t turned their phones off, lining up on in armoured vehicles.

Always disappointing when someone who wore the uniform--to me since childhood a symbol of respect and dignity--leans on cheap jokes about gender for engagement. All the more so when the very forces he once served are working on building a more inclusive force.
