Appalling violence against an unarmed, youth-led civil disobedience movement in India.
Peaceful protestors were challenging the broken education system under the Modi government. They were met with tear gas and baton charges.
Solidarity with those demanding justice.
EWS reservation did exactly the opposite of what Constitution states by allowing reservation for upper caste Hindus and Muslims and Christians though they never suffered any historical wrongs: Justice Rohinton Nariman

i folded and looked at social media.. the sheer number of “apolitical”people who saw me post dead bodies for 395 days and said nothing but are now being loud about politics reminds me that saying nothing was an active choice all along
we’ve done this dance a thousand times. massive circulation of this photo in leading feminist advocacy circles is so telling of their roles in manufacturing consent for imperialism. iranian women are fearless. why are the ones in burqas caricatured like ugly enemies of liberation
“Does the world expect us to be well-behaved victims while we are getting killed? For us to be slaughtered without making a noise?”
— Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.
Yahya Sinwar was fighting at the frontlines till his last breath. He faced his genocidal enemies with pure, raw defiance attaining the martyrdom that liberation fighters crave--after all, the making of legends is inherent to the lifeblood of the struggle.
The visuals of his last moments instil reverence and courage -- it is the opposite of the absurd, disgraceful senility of that living corpse named Biden who sends weapon shipments to kill Palestinian children, it is unlike the cowardice of Netanyahu who clings to a war from the skies in order to desperately cling to power.
For resistance movements around the world who fight against their invaders, Yahya Sinwar's end has all the hallmarks of martyrdom. The drone footage shows the enemy's stealth, its sneaky military tasked with killing a man, but being humbled by a hero who fights with his one remaining arm, the other freshly lost in combat, covered from head to toe in his keffiyeh, military vest, concrete dust and unparalleled glory.
The brave revolutionary Prof G N Saibaba passed away today at a hospital in Hyderabad. Farewell comrade, this news is heartbreaking because you could not even taste a year of freedom.
Incarcerated by the Indian state on charges of being a Maoist sympathizer, Prof Saibaba, with 90 percent disabilities, spent close to a decade in prison, and was often kept under the harshest solitary confinement. Housed in prison, his radical poetry addressed the colonial nature of the Indian legal system even as it addressed the many social evils that plague us as a nation.
It feels unreal, even unthinkable to exercise the past tense to write of you, comrade. You are a living flame. Your spirited fight, your strong will that did not shatter under the most cruel state oppression, your faith in the power of the working people -- this will remain your indelible legacy.
When I met you earlier this year in April, it felt like I was meeting a friend from forever. We discussed literature, IWE, the postcolonial novel, and what it means to be Bahujan within Indian academia. You laughed at how little I ate. You wore your suffering incredibly lightly--so casually that we felt doubly enraged at what the Indian state had inflicted upon you. Never did I realise that this was going to be my last ever meeting with you.
My deepest condolences to my friend and sister comrade AS Vasantha Kumari.
I'm left with no words to console you or Manjiri.
