Veteran Achievers Award: Honouring Excellence Beyond the Uniform

#GeneralUpendraDwivedi, #COAS, felicitated four distinguished Veterans with the ‘Veteran Achievers Award’ during the Retiring Officers Seminar in New Delhi. These awardees exemplify the spirit of selfless service, contributing immensely to nation-building, social welfare and youth empowerment post-retirement.

Brigadier Subhash Chandra Joshi (Retd) is a cornerstone of community upliftment in Sikkim, dedicated to veteran welfare and educating underprivileged children. In a remarkable act of Military-Civil synergy, he transferred over 10 acres of land to the Indian Army in Gangtok at a nominal cost, ensuring long-term support for local military formations.

Lieutenant Colonel Nishant Kaura (Retd) epitomises entrepreneurial excellence as the founder of Wirehead Infotech, creating vital career pathways for veterans. As a co-founder of the Metamorphes Foundation and faculty at AIMT Noida, he remains a key influencer in mentoring and skilling retirees for their transition into the corporate world.

Naik KS Gopalakrishna (Retd) has transformed rural livelihoods in Karnataka through sustainable organic farming and innovative crops like Dragon Fruit. As Director of Vidya Matha Academy, he has mentored over 30,000 students and conducted the district's first Agnipath workshop, leading to the selection of 35 candidates into the Indian Army.

Lance Naik R Murugesan (Retd) is a "Veteran Champion" who established the Karur District ESM Association to support over 300 Veterans and Veer Naris. He has proactively secured over ₹3 crore in welfare benefits and provides critical legal and administrative assistance to the families of deceased veterans.
